We had such a fun visit with Pack 110 last night! 🚒 We loved getting to know the group, answering their questions, and showing them around the station.

Citizens Fire Academy participants learned how Fishers Fire Department and Fishers Police Department work together through our High Threat Response Program.

They also completed Stop the Bleed training, learning how to recognize life-threatening bleeding and take action before first responders arrive. Participants practiced hands-on techniques to control severe bleeding, including applying pressure, packing a wound, and using a tourniquet.

We’ve been out and about in Fishers this week!

We were graciously invited to Hensley Legal Group, PC's wellness fair to talk fire and life safety, joined our partners at Fishers Police Department for their Open House, and traded our usual tools for hammers during the City of Fishers Habitat for Humanity Panel Build.

Three very different events, but each gave us a chance to connect, lend a hand, and spend time with our community.

Last night was all about bringing Recruit Class 41 and their families together.

Family Night offered a closer look at what recruits will experience over the next six months and gave everyone a chance to connect and get to know one another.

Recruit school is a journey for more than just the recruits, and nights like this help build the relationships and support that will carry them through the months ahead.

This week, Citizens Fire Academy members got a closer look at the Safety & Training Division and how our firefighters prepare for the job.

They learned more about FFD’s approach to training and education, then got to put some of that learning into action with hands-on experience using equipment our crews train with.

🔥 October is Fire Prevention Month, but around here, fire safety is an everyday conversation.

With cooler evening temperatures on the way this weekend, many of us may be turning on the heat for the first time in months. A slight burning smell at first can be normal as dust burns off, but it should fade fairly quickly.

Before you turn up the heat:
✅ Turn it on for the first time while you’re awake and home.
✅ Make sure your smoke and carbon monoxide alarms are working.

If the smell doesn’t fade or you see smoke or flames, get everyone outside and call 911.

And before you rely on your heat for the season, consider having your heating system inspected and serviced by a qualified professional.

🚑 Last week, Recruit Class 41 completed Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (EVOC) training.

The course combines classroom instruction with hands-on driving practice to prepare our recruits to safely operate emergency vehicles.
