🍎 Sometimes retirement is the beginning of something completely new.
After 40 years in nursing, Cissie Hennig was looking for a way to volunteer and stay involved. A lifelong interest in living history—and an invitation from a friend to attend an Alliance meeting—brought her to Conner Prairie in 2013.
She was hooked.
More than a decade later, Cissie continues to support Conner Prairie through the Alliance and The Apple Store.

🍎 APPLE OF THE WEEK: CRIMSON CRISP! 🍎
October is here, and apple season just feels a little sweeter! 🍂 There’s a reason Crimson Crisp is one of our favorites from Garwood Orchards — crisp, juicy, perfectly sweet-tart and our go-to apple for dipping! ❤️ They’re great for snacking, hold their shape beautifully in pies and crisps, and of course make a pretty incredible caramel apple, too.
Grab a bag and a Crimson Crisp caramel apple while they last! The Apple Store is open Wednesday–Sunday, 11 a.m.–5 p.m., and until 9 p.m. during Conner Prairie Headless Horseman evenings. 🎃

We’re OPEN for another week of fall favorites—and with October starting tomorrow and Headless Horseman kicking off Thursday night, fall is officially taking over at Conner Prairie. 🍂 🎃
The Apple Store is open Wednesday–Sunday, 11 a.m.–5 p.m., with extended hours until 9 p.m. Thursdays–Sundays during Headless Horseman, October 1–25. Plus, we’ll be open Saturday, October 31 from 11 a.m.–5 p.m. for National Caramel Apple Day! 🍎

🍎 For Carol Wakefield, Conner Prairie has been part of the family for nearly five decades.
She brought her daughters here when they were toddlers—sometimes just making a quick trip to Prairietown to visit the Zimmerman House and Golden Eagle Inn. So when her youngest went off to college in 2009, joining the Conner Prairie Alliance felt like a natural next chapter.
Today, Carol is part of the group of women behind The Apple Store, raising funds to support Conner Prairie while building friendships along the way.

The Apple Store at Conner Prairie is open for the week starting today! Stop in, stock up on your favorites and ask one of our volunteers about Bruised Apples. We’ll bag them upon request, while supplies last.

For Karen, the Alliance has meant lasting friendships, shared interests and the chance to give back to a place she’s always loved. From working together in the Apple Store to book clubs, needlework and more, there are plenty of ways to find your people and get involved.

Coming to Jupiter Flights? Make a stop at the Conner Prairie Apple Store part of your festival day! We’re opening early Saturday and Sunday and staying open late Friday and Saturday.
