A different view of Fishers. After the recent flooding, I thought looking for this picture/persepective would be interesting.

One of the ways you can help those in need with the flooding is to support Good Samaritan Network of Hamilton County through donations. This includes financial support as well as in-kind donations such as food, clothing, household goods, and toys. GSN not only helps around the holidays, but throughout the year for any situations that come up within Hamilton County. They are currently helping with the flooding relief.
As mentioned in the past - GSN works with other agencies throughout the county. Additionally, they are not running a thrift store, so they are looking to pay items forward, not sell them.
IF you are looking to donate things to help, Good Samaritan is open for donations Monday through Friday from 9 to 12 and 1 to 4:30. You can drop things off at their warehouse which is just south of 131st near SR 37. You can simply drive around back to where I've drawn an arrow in the attached image and drop things off. You can do this any time of year.
Now's a good time as any for us to step up and help our neighbors out that need a little help. Again - food, clothing, household goods, etc. are all good to donate. Even a little helps.
Thanks. Note - I'm not associated with GSN other than volunteering some of my time and donating when I can. I support them because they do a fantastic job for our community.
If you have questions about donations, they have posted their number, so I'll share it as well: 317-842-2603, x200

Flashback. Remember when Fishers Freedom Festival was a two-day, all day Saturday and Sunday from like 10:00am to 10:00pm?
In a time when our local school district is looking to increase the referendum amount and thus charge us individually with new taxes to cover the cost of operating our schools, I'm struggling to be supportive of tax abatements to new businesses and field houses that in essence wave at least part of the taxes these business would pay that would have gone to helping pay for the operation of our schools. Is this cognitive disconnect unfounded?

Fishers and the State Road 37 Project: Official Completion
The City of Fishers is hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony on
Tuesday, May 26, at 10:30 a.m.
to mark the opening of the final interchange at 141st Street as part of the State Road 37 Improvement Project.
That means that come Tuesday, the project that has divided a community (literally because it blocked the road) will be over for Fishers. The final intersection will be complete.
It's been a long and many would say painful process, but I believe nearly everyone that uses the intersections regularly will agree - the end result makes travel a bit easier in Fishers!
Now it's Noblesville's turn.
