5 things flood-affected homeowners should do now

Noblesville Home & Community Updates | Melissa Roop

If your property was affected by the recent flooding, Hamilton County is beginning curbside flood-debris collection on Monday, August 24.

Residents are being asked to use this weekend to move debris curbside and keep these materials separated:

• Electronics
• Vegetation
• Construction debris
• Sandbags

Important: Debris that residents remove and dispose of privately will not be reimbursed through the County’s debris removal program.

CrowderGulf will be collecting in specific zones beginning Monday. If you believe your property was missed by Thursday, August 27, or you need assistance getting flood debris to the curb, call the Flood Assistance Line at 317-645-3261.

Flood damage can also be reported through 211.

Collection schedules and recovery information may continue to change as the cleanup progresses, so I’ll keep sharing verified updates as they become available.

The White River reached a record crest here in Noblesville, surpassing a record that had stood since 1913.

More importantly, behind those numbers are neighbors dealing with flooded homes, damaged belongings, disrupted roads, cleanup, and a lot of uncertainty.
