Mind Body Functional Nutrition
Imagine simplifying your relationship with food, feeling consistent energy, feeling proud of your body!

Love this wisdom from mind body eating expert Stephanie Mara ๐๐๐ป๐
Your binge eating, restricting, emotional eating, undereating, overeating, disordered eating behaviors are all happening for an exquisite, wise bodily reason.
Decreasing the frequency of these food coping mechanisms happening wonโt be about the behavior itself diminishing and disappearing.
It would kind of be like if a baby was perpetually crying and you thought it was because they were too reliant on self soothing with their teddy bear. That teddy bear is a problem. We have to fix the reliance on this teddy bear. No!
What that baby is trying to do is find ways to navigate whatโs showing up in their body and they need more support and more options on how to do that.
Your trauma based food behaviors never have been nor will they ever be the real issue. You can start to invite in curiosity about what they have and continue to support you with to begin to take on a more compassionate understanding lens of your food impulses.
If youโre not already listening to my podcast Satiated, that is a great place to start to explore a Somatic Eatingยฎ approach to healing your relationship with food. Click on the link in my profile to check out the latest episode or search for Satiated wherever you listen to podcasts.

How to eat this breakfast:
1st - Mini peppers
2nd - Sausage links
3rd - Egg in a basket
Why order your food?
According to the work of Jessie Inhauspรฉ , eating food in this order -- fiber first, then fats and proteins, then starches and carbs -- will help to level out the natural glucose rollercoaster we ride each time we eat. So, less spikes and crashes (=midday fatigue, cravings, brain fog, etc) and more consistent energy and feeling good. Huzzah! Plus, it's best for our digestion. ๐
Sticky note these To Do's:

My beloved husband taught me how to make an omelet and now I'm ๐๐๐๐งกโค๏ธ
This omelet is inspired by, you guessed it, the rainbow ๐ ๐
I've been playing with other themes for my ommies lately, like "Le Frenchie Ommie" (tomato, tuna, green olives, sardines or anchovies, maybe some potatoes if I have them precooked) and the "Kitchen Sink" (leftovers and/or whatever my body is attracted to when I open the fridge and pantry!).
Designating a "theme" for your meal can be a fun and easy way to Connect (one of the ) with our food... Connection ensures mindful and respectful consumption, so we can more easily make Wise decisions that are aligned with How We Feel Right Now. Remember!! it doesn't matter so much WHAT you choose, but That You Are Consciously Choosing.
Some other meal themes include "picnic basket", "long and skinny", maybe specific colors (see previous post for my "yellow" breakfast), and for sure, what's seasonally fresh and available. asparagus and radish omelet anyone?!
Having is super helpful for all the beautiful fresh nutrient dense eggs for my omlete explorations. And, AS ALWAYS so I avoid eating eggs for breakfast every morning and only do it when I feel drawn to it - which, for me in my body, feels like excitement in my heart space and a warmth in my solar plexus, like my creative juices are flowing (and I for sure can make the time to execute my master plan, from egg cracking to pan washing, without stress).

Look at the stars ๐
Look how they shine for you,
And everything you do
They were all yellow ๐
According to the work of Dr Deanna Minich eating food of certain colors (in my case this morning, mostly yellow) can influence our mood and energy for the day. Woke up feeling strong in mah today. The nutrients and fiber in these (mostly) yellow foods will support healthy digestion and feed my gut bacteria. Huzzah!
