The last day of MS/HS art was set aside for our annual Pancake Art Competition. This year’s theme was “Any food but a pancake… made out of pancake”.

Help us choose a winning team to have their name added to the prestigious golden rolling pin trophy Vote by liking your favorite entry. Voting closes on Friday.

If you’re headed to college for Art, most post secondary schools require you to complete and submit a portfolio of your artwork. It’s a huge undertaking and hours and hours of work. So, at FCS when kids complete and submit their portfolios we celebrate…with cake, of course! Today, we recognize and celebrate Joe and Kyle!🎨🖼️🎨🖼️🎨🖼️

This year’s Cocoa Countdown has begun. Each year the art room homeroom kids count down the days to Winter Break with cocoa. Each day a name is drawn at random and that lucky kiddo is treated to cocoa. Indigo went with ”the works” today… Cocoa with a dash of French vanilla, marshmallow, whipped cream, chocolate syrup and of course a candy cane too!

There is nothing better on a nice spring day than a field trip, especially when we are headed to The Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts at St. Bonaventure University. Sean, the curator always plans the best experiences for us! We toured the Frida Kahlo exhibit, also toured the HS juried show featuring some Fillmore Central School artists, had a great picnic lunch and we created projects inspired by the exhibit and the Two Fridas painting. The Quick is a hidden gem in our area, all art lovers should check it out.

The HS studio classes are finishing up their culinary arts unit with a project we like to call Pancake Warz 2022. Twelve groups are displaying their pancake art skills with this years theme “Out of this World”. By Sunday night the entry with the most combined likes on Facebook and Instagram will be declared the winner. So scroll through the pictures and “like” your faves.

Shout out to our friend Sean from The Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts at St. Bonaventure University. He brought the art to us today as he set up a mini art gallery in the media center! Students were lucky to learn about several amazing pieces of art from the Quick Center’s permanent collection. Thanks Sean!

Today we celebrate Art for the Mind Body and Soul! Arts fest 2022 is underway and students, faculty, staff and administration are busy participating in a variety of art related activities. In the pictures below you may spot your kiddo at the petting zoo, making music with boom wackers, snuggling an emotional support dog, being read a story by Bob Ross and Mona Lisa, participating in a virtual field trip or spending time drawing Zentangles and making self esteem boxes!
Join us tonight as the celebration continues! The FCS Wellness Fair will also be set up in the small gym .

What a fun day for the my 7th grade artists and their 2nd grade Art Buddies! Last week we watched the movie Ugly Dolls. Then we teamed up to draw and design Ugly Dolls together. Then my 7th graders created them in felt as part of our fibers unit. Today we got to visit our art buddies again and give them their new dolls. They loved them! ❤️❤️❤️

FCS Artists celebrate our community with a stunning art display at The Wide Awake Library Club!

This past school year our art classes spent a great deal of time celebrating our community through individual art projects, gifts for community members and businesses, and even town tours. Now that things are opening back up we are celebrating by displaying approximately 70 pieces of artwork at the Wide Awake Club Library!! Each art piece on display at the library celebrates a local business or hot spot.
