Drake Dojo

One beautiful thing about Karate is you could keep practicing through out your life. In boxing a person is said to hang up there gloves when they get old. With Karate you could practice the exercises, kata, and even drills by yourself and anywhere there is room. As a famous master said; the world is your dojo.

Another dream about starting the dojo back up. Do dreams come true?

I am getting ready to practice Kata in my back yard. Today am going to practice all 17 Freestye Goju Kai Kata. The Benefit to me is it helps me maintain balance, strength, and flexibility. It also helps me to remember them for when we get the dojo fired up again we could work on them together.

Maybe i should start posting. I’ve been training as a lone wolf. I practice almost daily. Over the past few years I have found a love for what I do. I do it out of a desire to stay in shape, keep my mind working, and be the best I can be. Perhaps with that to offer to you we’ll be able to get together at a new place!

Facebook let me know I haven't posted anything as Drake Dojo. As most of you know covid shut us down. We hope to open up again in August or September. I'll post occasionally to keep my page. For now I'll keep practicing Kata as a lone wolf.

Wishing a Merry Christmas to all.

March 2020 since I last taught a class. In the 30 plus years of teaching Mrs. Drake and I taught over 400 students. If you include the students of daughter Sensei Terah Baker Drake, students John Rogsteads, and Victor Crosetties classes and others we have worked with then numbers may reach 1000 who we have shared the great benefits of Karate with. I do hope Mrs. Drake, Terah, myself and whoever would like to join us could start teaching again in 2022. My prayer is that soon we will all be able to put Covid behind us an move on. As a person who has seen what God can do on so many levels I would say the only way we will be able to do such is through prayer. The government can not solve it for us. I personally believe relying on the governments to do so has only increased the problem. I like many others have been vaccinated. We were told it would protect us. I have lost count of how many have got covid despite that fact. Stay safe there partners and hope to see you soon.
