On the weekend, I spend extra time in prayer as I approach our gatherings. The reason is simple, WE NEED GOD. Our ministry team is gifted and skilled. We are very organized and prepared. But our staff and our church all know - we need God to show up as we come together. We need Him to convict, encourage, comfort, reveal, speak, heal, deliver, and save.

We don't just need God in our gatherings, we need Him in our daily lives. Our gatherings help remind us that we are not alone, we are in this together, we all need Him, and He is at work in all of us in various ways.

While I was praying, I had a vision. I saw someone putting a large puzzle together - quite aggressively. They were moving so quickly that it was obvious they were trying to make pieces fit where they didn't because they needed to get it done fast. Now, I don't really do puzzles but I do know that you need patience and with large puzzles you can sometimes try and force a piece even when it doesn't fit.

As I pondered the vision I sensed that the Lord wanted to remind someone that you need to be patient and that He would give His peace to help you put the right pieces of your life into the right place. Be at peace. Rest in Him as you walk things out. He is our peace. He is our provider. He knows what needs to happen. We can't just force things to happen in our time table - God's got us and He is with us.

We need to stop seeking validation from a world who killed the only perfect person.

Let your worth come from God through Jesus Christ!

For those interested in the difference, this is helpful. I enjoy good theological discussions but only when we are properly framing up both sides of the issue.

I want to encourage you this week to REACH OUT to people around you. Start conversations. Encourage people. Ask if you can pray for someone. Shoot some text messages. Make phone call. Ask if you can help someone do something. Be generous with your finances or whatever you have. Share your testimony. Invite people over and practice hospitality. Pray for people throughout your day.

Let's REACH OUT beyond ourselves and watch God show up!

Brigit - as we celebrate 22 years of marriage today, I was thinking about this verse. I feel what this verse conveys. You are worth more to me than anything else in this life. I am blessed by you and I love our life together. Thank you for loving me.

I love you. I love you now more than ever.
