As many of us across the county are cleaning up after the storms from over the weekend, we know that you have lots of questions.

Here are a few answers.

•If you have residential structural damage from the storm, contact your homeowners or flood insurance company.

•If you have issues related to County Maintained roads please call Public Works at (505) 334-4520 (Non-County Maintained Roads are not maintained by the County)

•If you did not have flood insurance but would like to get more information about flood insurance – floodsmart.gov

Flood insurance is the only sure way for damages to be covered.
Structural damage is the only recoverable damage – residential accessory structures can be covered by flood insurance but only if specifically added to a policy.
Landscaping is not covered by the National Flood Insurance Program insurance.

* Every reported incident from this storm will go into the new insurance risk model (map) to be used for insurance rates*

This isn't every answer to every question, but please remember that the State constitution prevents San Juan County from doing work on non-government property, which includes private property, driveways, private roads, etc.
