Beginning Monday, June 8, 9th Avenue South will close on the east side of 45th Street South. This is part of the 45th Street South Concrete Pavement Repair Project.

Crews will replace the pavement in this area and have 14 days to reopen 9th Avenue South. Signs will be in place directing vehicles around the closure.

Work on 45th Street South for the whole project, which extends from 9th Avenue South to 15th Avenue South, is expected to be complete in the fall.

Beginning Monday, June 8, southbound 42nd Street South will be reduced to one lane between 37th Avenue South and 44th Avenue South. This closure is for private underground utility work and is expected to be in place for up to two weeks.

Beginning Wednesday, June 3, northbound 45th Street South will be reduced to one lane between 17th Avenue South and 9th Avenue South.

Crews will start working on Phase 1 of the 45th Street South Concrete Spot Repair Project. Following Phase 1, crews will begin Phase 2, which will reduce southbound lanes to one lane in the same area.

Local business signs will be in place directing vehicles around any closures throughout the duration of this project. Work on 45th Street South for this project is expected to be complete in the fall.

Beginning at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, June 2, the southbound lane of Broadway North will be closed to traffic between 4th Avenue North and 2nd Avenue North. The westbound lane of 2nd Avenue North will also be closed to traffic between 5th Street North and Broadway North.

Southbound traffic will be detoured to 2nd Avenue North via Roberts Street North. Westbound traffic will be detoured to 4th Avenue North via 5th Street North.

The lane closures will allow for storm sewer repairs to be completed. The lanes are expected to fully reopen by the end of the day Friday, June 5.

Beginning in the morning of Tuesday, June 2, 3rd Avenue North will be closed between Broadway and 5th Street North for a crane that is needed for work on a building.

The closure is expected to be in place until noon on Tuesday. Vehicles will be detoured using 4th Avenue North.

Beginning at 6 a.m. Wednesday, May 27, the northbound lanes of 25th Street South will be shifted to the center lane between 16th Avenue South and Demores Drive South. The lane closures will allow for concrete surface repairs to be completed.

The road is expected to fully reopen by end of the day Thursday, May 28, 2026.

The intersection of University Drive South and 32nd Avenue South is set to close Wednesday, May 27, as construction continues in Phase 2 of Segment 3 for the ongoing 32nd Avenue South Reconstruction Project. The short-term closure will last approximately three weeks.

This closure allows crews to safely complete essential underground utility work at the intersection of 32nd Avenue South and University Drive South. The closure is part of the City of Fargo’s multi-year effort to modernize infrastructure, enhance safety and improve overall traffic flow through this key corridor.

University Drive South intersection closure impact:
The intersection of University Drive South and 32nd Avenue South will be closed to all traffic. Detours will be in place for through traffic. All local businesses and properties will remain accessible. Pedestrian access will be maintained on at least one side of the street at all times.

Current traffic impacts:
• 32nd Avenue South between University Drive South east to the Red River remains closed as part of Phase 1.
• 32nd Avenue South between 15th Street South and University Drive South is closed as part of Phase 2.
• The intersection of University Drive South at 32nd Avenue South will be closed, effective May 26. A longer duration closure will occur later in Phase 2.
• The 15th Street South and 32nd Avenue South intersection is scheduled to open Tuesday, May 26. A longer duration closure will occur later in Phase 2 to complete the reconstruction of the intersection.
• The following detours will be in effect:
o Eastbound 32nd Avenue traffic detoured via 35th Avenue South.
o Westbound 32nd Avenue traffic detoured via 27th Avenue South.
o Southbound and northbound University Drive traffic detour via 18th Street South.

Public open house scheduled for Tuesday, June 9:
Residents, property owners, business owners and commuters are invited to attend a public open house regarding ongoing improvements to 32nd Avenue South. The meeting will take place on Tuesday, June 9, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Dr. James Carlson Public Library at 2801 32nd Ave. S. in Fargo.

City engineers and representatives from Apex Engineering Group and Reede Construction will be available to discuss the 32nd Avenue South Reconstruction Project. There will be no formal presentation.

Segment 3 is the last segment of the 32nd Avenue South Reconstruction Project, which began in April 2023. This important project enhances crucial underground infrastructure and transportation efficiency for everyone.

Beginning Wednesday, May 20, eastbound 1st Avenue North will be closed between 8th Street North and Roberts Street North. Crews are continuing spotting and locating all underground utilities in this stretch. This closure is expected to be in place for up to one week.

This is the next phase of a project to aid City project designers for a future 1st Avenue North Street Reconstruction Project. Crews will be digging to locate underground utilities and then patching the roadway. Over the next couple of months, they will be working in phases from University Drive east to 3rd Street North.

Beginning Monday, May 18, the intersection of 15th Street South and 32nd Avenue South is set to close, as construction continues in Phase 2 of Segment 3 for the ongoing 32nd Avenue South reconstruction project. The short-term closure will last approximately one week.

15th Street Intersection Closure Impact:
The intersection of 15th Street and 32nd Avenue South will be closed to all traffic for approximately one week. All local businesses and properties will remain accessible.

After 15th Street is reopened, the intersection of University Drive and 32nd Avenue South will be under a similar short-term closure. Longer duration closures of the two intersections will occur later in Phase 2.

Current traffic impacts:
• 32nd Avenue South between University Drive South east to the Red River remains closed as part of Phase 1.
• 32nd Avenue South between 15th Street South and University Drive South is closed as part of Phase 2.
• The intersection of 15th Street South at 32nd Avenue South will be closed, effective May 18th. Local business and property access will be maintained.
• The following detours will be in effect:
o Eastbound traffic detoured via 35th Avenue South.
o Westbound traffic detoured via 27th Avenue South.

All local businesses will remain accessible throughout construction. Pedestrian access will be maintained on at least one side of the street at all times.

Beginning Monday, May 18, eastbound Main Avenue will be shifted into the center turn lane between Broadway and 4th Street North. This closure is for a crane that will be working on a building and will be in place for one week.
