This free event features a screening of Great Performances l PBS Now Hear This: Everyone Loves Joplin — an hour-long documentary explores the life and legacy of musician and composer, Scott Joplin, the king of ragtime and the composer of Treemonisha.

Following the screening, soprano Neema Bickersteth, who stars as Treemonisha in Manitoba Opera's upcoming performances, will sing excerpts from the production.

💭 Should the city of Fargo change its government to a ward system?

Tomorrow, October 6, voters in Fargo will decide on a proposed change to the city’s government.

Fargo is currently governed by five commissioners, one being the Mayor, who are elected at large. Each member has an equal vote.

The proposed change will create a ward system of six council members, each elected from one of six wards (districts) across the city. The Mayor would not vote on council matters, except to break a tie.

🗳️ Polls are open 7am-7pm on Tuesday, with locations at the FARGODOME, Atonement Lutheran Church, and the Fargo Civic Center.

🇨🇦 Manitoba viewers: A change is coming!

Starting November 1, Manitoba is staying in Daylight Saving Time year-round, while the U.S. continues changing clocks. This means that from November through March, Prairie Public programs will air at a different local time in Manitoba.

Many of our on-air TV promos will list U.S. time and Manitoba time during the transition. If only one time is listed — on social media, our website, or anywhere else — it is U.S. time.
