Stark/Billings County Farm Bureau held its annual meeting at Fluffy Fields Winery in Dickinson at 6 p.m. on June 4. The business meeting was held following a delicious meal of roast beef, mashed potatoes, and green beans. NDFB Public Policy Director Calvin Benson gave an update on issues NDFB is working on leading up to the fall election and the 2027 Legislative Assembly.

NDFB Director of Member Relations Megan Hanson manned a booth during the Career Fair at the 97th ND FFA State Convention in Fargo. More than 800 students were in attendance, and many stopped by the NDFB Collegiate Farm Bureau booth to talk with Megan about NDFB's student membership, scholarships, the mentor contact list and member benefits.

NDFB staff members Joey Bailey and Megan Overby visited the North Dakota 4-H Camp Livestock Camp at Washburn, N.D., yesterday. Joey, along with her daughter and niece, gave a demonstration on swine care and showmanship. It was hot, but a great day to help out!

NDFB President Val Wagner had an opportunity to attend Governor Kelly Armstrong's Legacy Soil Health and Habitat Program Roundtable, held at the Cass County Soil Conservation District Shop in Mapleton, Wednesday, May 27.

The discussion focused on improving soil health on marginal and unproductive crop ground while expanding opportunities for North Dakota agriculture. President Wagner applauded conservation initiatives that create opportunities — not competition — for farmers and ranchers, especially those just beginning their journey.

Others in attendance included USDA Under Secretary Richard Fordyce, North Dakota Game and Fish Commissioner Jeb Williams, Deputy Agriculture Commissioner Tom Bodine, North Dakota Association of Soil Conservation Districts Executive Director Rhonda Kelsch, Senator John Hoeven, and members of other stakeholder groups.

Thank you to Governor Armstrong for bringing leaders together to discuss policies and programs that will help build a strong future for rural North Dakota.
