I’ve maintained a few small client projects at Next Action Digital since I started full time at MSUM. It was fun to pull out my Twitter training and spend a little time with the Fargo Moorhead West Fargo Chamber of Commerce team, re-energizing their social team.
Aren’t these the BEST cupcakes for a Twitter training?
And, bonus: I got to take a selfie with Amanda Huggett in . ❤️

CCRI—Creative Care for Reaching Independence has done an amazing job of empowering their social media team to share their culture story in a way that draws people to their organization. It was a pleasure to partner with Anna Larson to share their story at Social Media Breakfast Fargo-Moorhead this week. You can check out the slides from the event, here.

Just because your social media content started on one channel doesn’t mean it can’t be available to connections on other channels. There are many ways to repurpose content to reach new audiences.
Here’s a great example from. CCRI—Creative Care for Reaching Independence. They used a Twitter Moment to create an event recap that could be shared here on Facebook. Well done, CCRI.
CCRI Talent Show The 2018 Talent Show was a night filled with incredible performances. We are grateful to the Stage at Island Park (FMCT), Amanda Lea, and all our volunteers for making the night one to remember.

A fun memory from two years ago. Presenting to Chamber Business Training about Leveraging LinkedIn.
A tip I continue to share - each week look back at your calendar and ask: “Who did I meet this week that I should connect with on LinkedIn?” This simple and consistent practice has made a huge impact for me on growing my connections.
Happy Friday! ❤️

Fun day for Next Action Digital yesterday when a social media moment became a real-life connection. Founder Kirsten Jensen shares this story:
The magic of social media is in connection. I have enjoyed tweeting with Mr. Cole ( on Twitter) for years. On Talk Like a Pirate day I posted a tweet with a tiny violin and Mr. Cole replied offering a real violin lesson. We finally met in person and he taught me the basics of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star 🌟 in just 15 minutes over his lunch hour.
Lessons learned in a 15-min lesson with Mr. Cole.
1) I am so grateful for amazing teachers like Mr. Cole. Kids clearly learn more than 🎻 in his class.
2) You can feel even when it’s not your school. 🙌
3) I would need a lot more practice to play with a bow. 😂
And, most of all, I enjoyed our quick conversation about and how Moorhead Orchestra kids are keeping gratitude journals. It’s definitely one of the most valuable lessons kids can learn. Always awesome to meet a fellow gratitude preacher.
This is certainly one of my favorite stories of 2018. Social media really can help us meet folks we wouldn’t cross paths with otherwise. Really thankful for this connection. 🤩

When we only talk about our culture and core values at a high level, they can begin to sound trite, even untrue. Employee voices can show what those values look like in everyday life, reinvigorating our messages by providing social proof that we are who we say we are.
See how American Crystal Sugar, Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Red River Valley and Creative Care for Reaching Independence (CCRI) go beyond saying what they value to empowering their employees to show what they value.
