F5 Project - Minot hosted its monthly Re-Entry Supper last night. Thank you, Wade for sharing your story!

Last night at our Reentry & Connection Meal, we had the privilege of hearing from Wade Duchaine, who shared a powerful story of family, addiction, criminal justice involvement, and ultimately, redemption.

Wade spoke openly about being involved in the criminal justice system from the age of 13 and how addiction became deeply rooted in his family and his life. But his story didn’t end there.

Today, Wade’s focus is simple but powerful: being a good dad, being a good person, and giving back to the community he once felt lost in through criminal activity and addiction.

His story was a beautiful reminder that reentry is about so much more than coming home. It’s about reconnecting. Rebuilding relationships. Finding purpose. And becoming part of a community again.

Wade did an incredible job reminding us that people are more than their past, and that change is possible when someone is given the opportunity, support, and connection to create something different.

Thank you, Wade, for sharing your story and for reminding us why these conversations matter. ❤️

Your past may be part of your story, but it does not have to be the end of it.

From our F5 Project - Williston - Watford City office:

September is Recovery Month 🖤❤️

Meet Gina, Care Coordinator and Peer Support for the Williston an Watford City area.

"I've been thinking a lot about what recovery really means to me.

My story isn't a perfect one. I didn't get sober because life suddenly became easy. I got sober because I knew I couldn't keep living the way I was living.

Then life happened in ways I never could have imagined.

I lost my son, Tyler. I experienced a kind of grief I didn't know a person could survive. And I had a choice to make—would I go back to the things I once used to numb the pain, or would I learn to walk through the pain sober?

By God's grace, I chose to keep walking.

That doesn't mean I've never struggled. I've had hard days. I've questioned things. I've cried. I've wanted to understand why. But today, I don't have to drink to get through those moments.

God has slowly taken the broken pieces of my life and given them purpose.

The woman who once needed someone to believe in her now gets the privilege of sitting beside people who are struggling and saying, “I believe there is more for you.”

That's what recovery means to me.

And every day I get to help someone else find their way forward, I am reminded that God can use even the hardest parts of our story.

My past will always be part of my story. Tyler will always be part of my story. But neither one gets to write the ending.

I'm still here. I'm still sober. I'm still healing. And I'm still going.

If you're struggling today, please know this: your story isn't over. Keep going. ❤️

💜 As we wrap up Recovery Month, we would like to honor our peer support Danielle's story! 💜

"I was trapped in a cycle of domestic violence, addiction, fear, shame, and self-destruction. Incarceration and federal indictments became part of my story, and I believed my mistakes, trauma, and circumstances would define the rest of my life. I felt powerless, broken, and stuck, unable to see a way forward.

I chose to fight for my life. Through recovery, reentry, and the unwavering support of the F5 Project, I reclaimed my power and rewrote my story. Sobriety gave me freedom. Healing gave me a purpose. Courage replaced fear, hope replaced shame, and stability replaced chaos.

Today, I am not defined by my past. I am defined by my resilience. I have transformed pain into purpose, obstacles into opportunities, and survival into a life I am proud to live. The same experiences that once nearly destroyed me now fuel my passion for helping others find their own path to recovery and freedom.

My story is not about what happened to me. It is about what I overcame.

I am living proof that recovery works, that second chances matter, and that no matter how broken you feel, transformation is possible."

Our Fargo team hosted its first Re-Entry Supper last night!

They had a great turnout, great food, and—most importantly—a chance to bring people together in community.

Reentry is about more than navigating resources. It’s about connection, belonging, and having people in your corner as you move forward. Nights like this create space to share a meal, build relationships, connect with support, and remind people that they don’t have to navigate the next chapter alone.

We’re excited to see Re-Entry Suppers growing in Fargo and grateful to everyone who joined us for the first one. Join us next month on October 15th.

💜Recovery Month Spotlight💜

Sarah is one of our care coordinators at F5 Project. She's passionately driven to help others, she has been a great asset to the team since day 1!

"Active addiction had me living a life that I continually wanted to escape. I didn't know what it meant to sit with an emotion, I didn't know how to process what I was feeling and move forward. All I knew was how to escape it. Waking up with a gash over my eye (or other various injuries) from the night before was a life I had accepted as all it would ever be. After waking up in the ICU, after yet another failed attempt of ending the hell I was living in, I was finally ready to do the work to change the cycle I was living in.

Recovery has shown me a life I no longer want to escape, but rather a life I never dreamed was possible. It has allowed me to become the mom I struggled to be at one point. I have been able to prove to my family that I am now someone who can be depended on. Getting sober at 39 I thought my life was almost over, now, almost 5.5 years later, I know that life had only just begun."

🏠 Housing should do more than provide a place to live. It should help create a path forward.

F5 Project has been proud to participate in a rent reporting grant and cohort through Credit Builders Alliance - CBA, with support from Capital One, focused on helping residents build credit while living in F5 Project housing.

For many of the people we serve, rebuilding after incarceration, addiction, homelessness, or other significant barriers means rebuilding financially, too. Limited or damaged credit can make it harder to secure housing, finance a vehicle, access affordable lending, and take other important steps toward long-term stability.

Through rent reporting, residents have the opportunity to have their housing payment history reported as part of their credit profile — allowing something they are already doing to become another tool for building their financial future.

This work has also helped F5 strengthen our own systems, learn alongside other housing providers, and think more intentionally about how transitional and supportive housing can create lasting impact beyond the time someone lives with us.

A safe place to live matters.

But so does what someone is able to build while they're there.

We are grateful to Credit Builders Alliance and Capital One for investing in strategies that help organizations like F5 Project turn housing into another opportunity for long-term stability and independence!

Breaking Barriers. Building Futures.

✨In honor of Recovery Month, we’d like to share some personal stories! Check out our Care Coordinator Jenny’s story:

“September is Recovery Month, and every year I find myself reflecting on just how far I’ve come.

There was a time when addiction controlled so much of my life. I couldn’t see the person I would become or the life that was waiting for me on the other side of it.

Today, I get to wake up and live a life I once couldn’t imagine. Recovery has given me the opportunity to be the mother I always wanted to be, build the family I never dreamed possible, pursue my dreams, discover my passions, and truly learn who I am.

I’ve gone from surviving to building a life filled with purpose, connection, love, and hope. I get to use my experiences to help others, break barriers, and remind people that their past does not have to define their future.

I’m proud of the woman I’ve become—not because the journey has been easy, but because I kept choosing to move forward.

Recovery gave me my life back. And I’ll never stop being grateful for that. ❤️”

2026 Behavioral Health & Children and Family Services Conference in Bismarck!

We have a booth until Thursday, hope to see you there! ❤️

09/14/2026

Recovery isn’t about having every day figured out. It’s about continuing to move forward, one step at a time.

Every step matters. Every conversation matters. And support can make the journey feel a little less heavy.

Recovery is a journey., and you don’t have to walk it alone.
