The Fairfield Iowa Carnegie Museum is located at the former Fairfield Public Library on the 3rd floor. Various showcases around the museum highlight Fairfield's history. Fairfield's former library is a historical artifact in itself: the first of 1,689 endowed by Andrew Carnegie, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. We'll be open for the Southeast Iowa Museum Crawl THIS Saturday! (June 13 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.)
We'll have a PHOTO BOOTH with vintage hats, a SCAVENGER HUNT for young and old alike with prizes and a very special guest artist that specializes in calligraphy, JOHN STIMSON. John will be dressed in 19th century attire as he labels cards with visitors' names in an assortment of several historic alphabet styles using genuine blue ink from the 1890s!
Plus, if you can't make it this weekend you are in luck! We'll also be open next weekend for FAIRfest! We'll see you all soon for this FUN ADVENTURE!
