We’ve been in this house almost 7 years and I’m finally getting my TV mounted on the wall in my sewing room 🤗
Those teenage boys with their tool bags just hit Mamas differently. I finally don’t have to just “listen” to it on the table behind me.
Hoping after the last two years of some medical issues I’ll be back in the swing of things and sewing a lot more!
And look at all that snow piled on my window 🥶. Wind chill of -13 here today.

Our Story
Hey there! My name is Tess Weber-Popejoy, the Mama behind Backroads Mama. I am a wife and stay at home Mom to two little boys - Asher (9) and Adler (6). Backroads Mama was born when I decided to stay home with the birth of my second little man. The Backroads of beautiful central Illinois are my home and you will find my family camping, riding dirt bikes and cruising in my Chevelle.
Life with two boys has kept me busy but now that they are both in school full time I can commit my days to my passion which is making beautiful things! I have always enjoyed making rag quilts which has evolved into full nursery sets. Once we bought a camper with bunks I found it was impossible to find sheets that fit the odd shaped bunks. I knew I could make something both functional AND cute for my boys so for the past 2 years I have been making custom RV bedding. I love the challenge of taking the dimensions people give me and turning those numbers into perfectly fitting sheets - the math nerd in me :)
