With a Red Flag Warning in effect today, along with continued fire restrictions, we want to make sure our community is fully aware of what these restrictions entail.
These conditions—low relative humidity, warm temperatures, and increased winds—create an elevated risk for rapid fire spread. It is critical that everyone follows all current fire restrictions to help prevent wildfires and keep our community safe.
Please take a moment to review the restrictions and ensure you are in compliance. Your awareness and cooperation make a significant difference in protecting lives, property, and our natural resources.

Please stay aware. We are still in Fire restrictions
Don’t let the snow fool you. Fire danger is still HIGH, and unincorporated Jefferson County remains in Stage 1 Fire Restrictions.
This winter has brought record-low snowfall, record-high temperatures, and frequent strong winds. Those conditions have left soil and vegetation very dry and continue to increase wildfire risk. Forecasts show a return to warm, dry weather, with all of Jefferson County now in Severe or Extreme Drought.
Stage 1 Fire Restrictions will stay in place until we see a more normal weather pattern with multiple wet storms and more seasonable temperatures.
Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Wildland Fire Management Team will continue monitoring conditions with our fire agency partners.
Reminder: Jefferson County Parks and Open Space and Denver Mountain Parks are always in Stage 2 Fire Ban. Please check with your local municipality or fire department for restrictions in incorporated areas. Find more details: https://www.jeffcosheriffco.gov/safety/wildland-fire/fire-restrictions
