Enjoying my sunlit space today.
In the summer it feels a little like a greenhouse, and in the winter, a little like an igloo. Just kidding. I’ve got the Dyson heater going by the door and the heat cranked up, so we’re good.
I heard something recently that really stuck with me. People who are good at fixing things often got that way because there was a lot broken around them, or in their world. And honestly… amen.
Nothing a little duct tape, a Dyson heater, a bit of magic, and some good hair color can’t handle.
When Lisa came in yesterday, it was her second time seeing me. Last visit we softened things up, and this time we agreed she didn’t want to be as warm as her first appointment. She’s loving seeing her natural come through, but still wanted a little pop.
This kind of color, on this kind of person, is one of my favorite places to work. Someone like-minded, fun, thoughtful, and open. It’s a good reminder, especially in seasons where it feels like there’s pressure to do more, be more, or push harder, that there’s a lot to appreciate right where we are. And in the people we get to share this work and this life with.
New year, same vibrant color and energy.
Kristine is amazing, and this color is the full embodiment of that.
May we all go into the New Year like Kristine: looking fabulous, feeling fabulous. Honestly, if color could be a mantra, this would be it.

It’s everyone’s favorite stylist’s birthday today. When I think of ageless, Helen always comes to mind. This year marks 20 years of knowing her, and I can honestly say she’s only gotten funnier and more refined with time. She’s wise, she’s trusted, and she’s the person so many of us confide in and feel loved by daily.
Helen, may all the heart you pour into everyone else find its way back to you today. You deserve to receive every bit of the love you give.

Finishing our last clients before the holiday yesterday has me feeling all sorts of grateful. The relationships we have and the people who sit in our chairs have been, and continue to be, a blessing in my life. The things I learn, the perspectives I gain, and the way I feel witnessed behind the chair is one of the greatest gifts of this work.
We are tired and ready to relax with our families, and also deeply touched by everyone who trusts us with their hair and their stories daily.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. See you all in 2026.
Day walked in today and instantly lifted the room. Her inspo was this soft, sun-kissed, buttery blonde… warm, effortless, lived-in, exactly the kind of hair that feels good to wear every day. Loved getting to bring that vision to life in a way that grows out easy and gives her more time between visits without the color looking like it’s working overtime.
And the cut? A refresh to bring back movement and shape, keeping it soft, touchable, and easy to style day to day.

We did it. Helen and I made it through Holiday Hairpalooza.
Grateful for our clients, our craft, and a studio that holds us steady even in the holiday rush.

Emily once lived on the lighter side of blonde. Lately, we’ve been easing her back into a subtle honey-golden brunette and the health, shine, and softness speak for themselves. Proof that gorgeous hair doesn’t have to be the lightest version. It just has to be the right one.
