Bright Parade 2026 was such an amazing experience! It was so inspiring to see all the incredible parade entries and experience all the community excitement and support! The whale floats were made by Jayme Vineyard, Gery Spetzler, and Kerry Weeks. A big thanks to Lane Arts Council for the grant that helped make this all possible!

In this hands-on workshop, you’ll discover the simple, satisfying art of making your own herbal salves from scratch. We’ll start with the basics—choosing quality oils, beeswax, and dried or fresh herbs—and guide you through the gentle process of infusing, straining, and blending everything into a smooth, skin-nourishing salve. You’ll learn about the properties of common healing herbs like calendula, plantain, and lavender, and how to customize your recipe for dry skin, minor cuts, aches and pains, or everyday soothing. Along the way, we’ll touch on the folk magic of herbal preparations—how intention, seasonality, and simple ritual can turn a jar of salve into something more meaningful. You’ll leave with your own tin of finished salve and the confidence to keep making it at home. No experience needed!
