Waters Edge Church Encinitas

By the time we all sit down for dinner, someone is already asking for seconds…

Apparently, “Let’s eat together” requires more planning than we thought.

In Corinth, the table had become a place of division, selfishness, exclusion, and humiliation (1 Cor. 11:17–22).

This Sunday, we’re talking about breaking bread together—and the barriers God wants to break down among us.

See you at the table.

Most of us don’t need another polished answer or perfect sermon.

We simply need permission to be honest.

This Sunday, another Unedited panel arises as people from our church share the Psalms that carried them through fear, grief, doubt, and hope. No pretending. No perfect endings. Just real stories of a faithful God who meets real people.

The Psalms teach us to interpret our lives through who God is… not interpret God through our circumstances.

That’s where hope begins.

What do you need to bring to God today?

Anger?
Frustration?
Joy?
Gratitude?
Questions?
Or maybe... nothing at all.

Bring it anyway.

The Psalms remind us that God welcomes honest prayers—not polished ones.

Join us this Sunday as we begin Unedited, a brief summer series in the Psalms, and discover the freedom of bringing whatever you’ve got to the God who already likes us, loves us and loves loving us.

Life has a way of teaching us to edit ourselves.

We filter our emotions. We soften our questions. We wonder if we need to clean ourselves up before coming to God.

The Psalms tell a different story.

They’re filled with honest prayers…. joy, grief, fear, anger, hope, confusion, and trust. Nothing is hidden. Nothing is polished.

This Sunday we begin Unedited, a summer journey through the Psalms. Together we’ll rediscover that prayer isn’t about saying the right things… it’s about bringing our real selves before the God already knows us and loves us.

Freedom in Christ isn’t merely the removal of chains.

It’s the restoration of purpose.

Thank you to everyone who joined us in caring for our beach today. Small acts of love become beautiful reminders that we’ve been freed not merely FROM something, but also FOR something.

What is freedom actually for?

The world often defines freedom as the ability to do whatever we want. But does the gospel offer something even greater?

Join us this Sunday as we continue our journey through 1 Corinthians. Then stick around as we put our freedom into practice with a beach cleanup.
