Meet Linus & Rerun, the sweetest bonded lapcat brothers looking for their forever home!
Born in foster care, these two grew up knowing love, playtime, and all the comforts of a happy home — and now they’re 5 months old and ready to bring that joy to yours.

Linus is the chatty comedian of the duo. He’ll tell you all about his day, follow you around the house, and happily flop into your arms for snuggles. He’s a squeezable‑treat connoisseur and a champion toy chaser. His favorite nap spots? A cozy laundry basket or his cat condo throne.

Rerun is the gentle listener. He gazes at you like he understands every word, then launches into impressive jumps when the feather wand comes out. He loves curling up with Linus, especially in sunbeams or tucked into a comfy nook.

Together, they’re playful, affectionate, and wonderfully companionable. They enjoy kids of all ages (with gentle handling), ignore dogs, and thrive in active homes. They’re lapcats, bed buddies, snuggle pros, and enthusiastic explorers of tunnels, boxes, scratchers, and high perches.

They may need a few days to settle in — treats and playtime help — but once they do, you’ll have two devoted shadows who bring nonstop joy.

Dear Rescue House Family,

We wanted to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all of your well wishes, prayers, and donations to our most recent serious medical kitty, Callie. Despite a successful surgery, sweet Callie found herself back in the emergency room quickly where her poor body would not respond to any treatments. Multiple tests were run, extensive care provided and every option explored; however, she continued to crash and lose weight. After consulting with several doctors, we made the unbearable decision to say goodbye to our sweet girl. She will forever have a place in so many of our hearts.

Quickly after losing Callie, we had another medical emergency, which leads us to you:

Axel was TNR’d by the Humane Society, as part of their Community Cat Program. When we found out what a sweet boy he is, The Rescue House scooped him up and promised to find him a loving, forever home, which he so greatly deserves!

Although Axel is a shyer boy, he is easily won over by treats and head scratches. He will politely tell you when he's had enough by gently grabbing and redirecting your hand with his paws. He loves playtime with wand toys, plush mice, anything with a bell, and of course, his catnip banana. Since he moved into foster, a number of mice have mysteriously lost their stuffing! He enjoys lap and lap adjacent snuggles, but also enjoys his alone time in his cat cave - maintaining his handsome, man of mystery vibes. He has a soft voice, but is a talkative cat, especially around mealtime.

Axel is highly food oriented and would probably eat his own weight in food and treats if allowed. This likely led to his unfortunate accident recently – Axel was trying to get in the treat drawer while everyone else was asleep, hoping no one would notice! His foster family heard a clatter and thump followed by crying and hissing. Axel raced away and was frightened when his family came to check on him but calmed down with some soft soothing words. Unfortunately, he couldn't bear weight on his left hind leg which he was holding in a flexed position.

Although he was in a ton of pain, Axel was a brave boy and got himself in his carrier with some Churu incentive and was whisked off to the emergency vet, where he was diagnosed with distal fractures in his tibia and fibia, as well as some small hairline fractures. Repairing the fractures would have required eight weeks of cage rest with a splint to stabilize his leg and we knew Axel wouldn’t want that - despite the pain he was in, Axel wanted out of his hospital cage and tore off his cone and splint at every opportunity. After consultation with the surgeon, it was decided the best course of action was to amputate Axel’s leg – as a young kitty, he would be able to heal quickly and tripod kitties lead long, healthy lives.

In large part due to the incredible care that Axel received (and continues to receive!) in his foster home, Axel healed quickly and has become very skilled at navigating life on three limbs. He runs at full speed and is getting better every day figuring out how to stop where he plans. After playtime, he loves a good snuggle, leaning up against his foster or the nearby pillow for a cuddle and snooze. He’s come so far so quickly and soon will be ready to find his forever home!

Axel’s story brings us to our cat community for help. With the hospitalization and surgery, along with required follow-ups, we are looking at a total cost of $6000. This is on top of an already busy and expensive kitten season with no end in sight – kitties with FIP, calici virus, panleukopenia - you name it, we’ve had it and we desperately need your help.

At the Rescue House, we pride ourselves on making sure each of our kitties has the necessary medical care that they need and deserve. Please help us to continue providing the necessary care these little furballs desperately need.

Meet Millie, the petite powerhouse who’s ready to find her forever home!
This talkative little tortie girl is full of affection and even more full of energy. She leaps, zooms, pounces, and then curls right up beside you with a loud purr. If you stretch out on the couch or bed, she’ll happily join you for snuggles.

Millie is four months old and must have a kitty playmate, and she’d love to go home with one of her littermates — Nyx, Neo, Puma, or Nimbus. She’s very playful, can self‑entertain, and enjoys lots of company. Expect wand-chasing, trackball mastery, and enthusiastic laser-pointer sessions.

She may need a few days to warm up, but once she trusts you, she becomes a devoted little shadow who follows you, rubs against you, and sleeps on your bed.

Millie is ready for a loving home that offers gentle handling, patience, and plenty of fun.
