Twenty years ago today I married this incredible man and we’ve now raised 2 amazing kids and built a beautiful, shared, supportive life together. I couldn’t be more happily married and feel so grateful for the blessing of a great marriage.

Major milestone this week moving our daughter into her freshman dorm at UC Berkeley! We're so excited for her, but also emotional about our eldest leaving home for her next chapter. Proud mama and papa Bears! 💙💛

What an exciting weekend of campaigning across SD-38! On Saturday I joined the Marni von Wilpert campaign in Vista to knock doors and talk with voters, and then had the chance to speak with the La Costa Dems.

It's so energizing to hear directly from voices across our district about the issues that matter most: from affordability to public safety to protecting our coast. These conversations are what this work is all about.

I'm proud to be part of a team of Democrats fighting for our shared values, and I can't wait to keep this momentum going. See you out there! 🌊

What a wonderful afternoon at the Summer Picnic hosted by the Pacific Beach Democrats and La Jolla Democrats at Kate Sessions Park!

It was great to spend time with so many engaged community members, answer your thoughtful questions, and talk about the work we're doing to protect our coast, tackle affordability, strengthen public safety, and defend our democratic values.

The energy and enthusiasm in our community gives me so much hope. Thank you to everyone who came out, and to the Pacific Beach Democrats and La Jolla Democrats for bringing everyone together. I'm proud to keep fighting for the priorities that matter most to our district.

One of the best parts of this job is meeting young people who are ready to roll up their sleeves and make a difference.

It was a pleasure joining Congressman Scott Peters and this inspiring group of Democracy Summer Fellows yesterday to talk about public service, environmental leadership, and the importance of getting involved in our communities. Their thoughtful questions, energy, and commitment to making a positive impact give me real hope for the future.

Today, we joined California Democratic Party and Marni von Wilpert for Congress to knock doors and talk with voters about what’s at stake this November.

Flipping CA-48 from red to blue and keeping SD-38 blue will take all of us showing up, having conversations, and doing the work one voter at a time.

Thank you to everyone who came out and spent part of their day canvassing with us. I’m grateful for your energy, your commitment, and everything you’re doing to help Democrats win up and down the ballot.

Early returns have us leading with 52.6% across both San Diego and Orange counties — a strong start. With many ballots still left to count, we're optimistic that our lead will continue to grow in the coming days. Thank you to every supporter, volunteer, and voter who helped get us here!

Thank you to everyone who joined me for a Sunday morning spent picking strawberries and blackberries, catching up with friends and neighbors, and enjoying one of Orange County’s truly special places.�

I’m always inspired by the work The Ecology Center does. Their regenerative farming practices are a reminder that when we care for the land, we can grow healthier food, build healthier soil, and create a more sustainable future right here in our own community.

I was also glad to hear more from their team about their commitment to paying workers more than minimum wage. That matters. The people who do the work should be able to thrive, not just get by.�

Places like The Ecology Center don’t happen by accident. They exist because people choose to invest in good food, environmental stewardship, and the dignity of working people. I’m grateful to their entire team for welcoming us and for the example they continue to set.�
