The NOLA Gold are proud to announce that Tesimoni Tongauiha will earn his 50th cap in Major League Rugby this weekend when the Gold travel to Toronto to face the Arrows. Tongauiha will be the first player to earn his 50th cap while a member of the Gold. After playing for Life West club, Moni has become an integral part of the Gold since joining the team in 2018. Moni has also been capped by the USA Eagles ( #545) and has been awarded NOLA Gold’s “Golden Hammer” for being the team’s hardest hitting/tone setting player. The Gold will honor Tongauiha at our April 23rd match against the Austin Gilgronis.
“We are very proud and honored to have Moni on our team for the last five years and many more to come” said general manager Ryan Fitzgerald. “Week in and week out Moni puts his body, heart, and soul on the line for his teammates. He is a true competitor and a constant professional which is shown through this milestone. We are looking forward to watching Moni’s next 50 caps with the Gold!”
