Well it’s been about a year since we sold our practice. It took some time but we are finally off to Africa in March! Before we go we would like to ask a favor. Please help us help an underserved and impoverished community in South Africa!

Well, its been a great run! We started Petdoc2u 10 years ago with the idea of providing concierge veterinary care at home. The practice surpassed our wildest expectations and we have loved every minute of it. We made a lot of friends and enjoyed our time immensely. We will be forever grateful to our wonderful clients and being allowed the privilege of caring for their beloved pets.
Last year, while we were in South Africa, we were presented an amazing opportunity to work with wildlife performing care to prevent and control the transmission of infectious disease and work with underrepresented communities. This opportunity of a life time is one we do not want to pass up so, with difficulty, we chose to sell the practice to a national chain and pursue this amazing dream.
Our plan is to continue to work in veterinary medicine but the patients will be half a world away. Many of them will be wild, have much larger teeth, some will have tusks and horns, some really long necks, some will be water preferring and most will be free roaming and potentially very dangerous both physically and because of the disease they may carry.
We hope to keep you, our friends appraised of what we are doing through a page and other forms of communication as we experience what the future holds.
At some point, Petdoc2u will cease to exist and will be rebranded by the new owners. Because of this, this page will no longer exist. Just returned from two weeks in South Africa with Ecolife Expeditions. Lots of hands on learning and an incredible experience. Dr. Van Hoven and Liana are exceptionally knowledgeable and were wonderful guides!
