Thanks to Gary Penn, DTM, who served as Toastmaster Extraordinaire yesterday with the fun theme of "Summer Traditions." Gary deftly managed the meeting, keeping it on schedule yet filled with excellent speeches and interesting evaluations. Below are the winners, L to R: Sarah (guest of JC) for Best Table Topics; Janet for Best Speaker, and Josh for Best Evaluator.
We will NOT meet next Thursday, July 2, due to the holiday. See you next on Thursday, July 9th.
Happy Fourth of July to all!

6/18/26 - What a week. An excellent finale from our co-president’s reign (Cindy McNab & Donna Masterman) who both gave speeches, whilst Cindy’s speech represented the club’s acquisition of the Smedley Award (which is very cool). The winners seen in the photo below represent all the cool stuff in today’s meeting
Khalid Larif’s last minute volunteering for Table Topics Master resulted i one of the most deserving recipients of this award we’ve seen in a hot minute (or hour)
A first time guest’s pure affability won the Table Topics Award, which always wholesome to see
JC won Best Eval (no surprise there)
And beautifully Sean Korby and Cindy McNab TIED for Best Speaker, which represents the DUALITY of Toastmasters - Pure Entertainment on the fly of the highest magnitude; and a deeply personal and vulnerable story tied in with leadership of the highest honor. That’s who we are here :)

6/11/26 - This meeting ROCKED. In Savannah Broderick’s latest RoastMastering work “Soundtrack To Your Life” she interpolates intro music of each speakers choice) for each and every speech, which worked out impeccably (we should do this regularly)
Not just that, but we got good (non musical) fanfare from a very enthused audience (thank you savannah)
BEST TABLE TOPIC - RANDY’s high notes as well as her general gregariousness wiped the floor with this one
BEST EVALUATOR - BRION CASE won, although, Bryan Pate got cheated out of an easy blue ribbon via going 3 seconds over time (I’m brion so i feel like i’m ok with saying Bryan got cheated out of a ribbon 🙂)
BEST SPEAKER - JAMES METZINGER’s “Becoming An Athlete Again” was one if the strongest first-tike speeches i’ve seen in at least 40 years (i’m 23 years old)
Great work, we shall see you next week :)

6/4/26 - have you ever eaten a slice of pizza that’s unusually crispy with minimal excess grease and a punchy flavor from the jump? Well, that was this uniquely delicious meeting. This meeting was so yummy it’s not even funny
Ingredients:
FIRST TIME TOASTMASTER LAUREN SMITH with her “younger you” theme which resulted in lots of existential reminiscing from many in the audience, as well as a guessing game featuring secretly acquired baby photos
BEST TABLE TOPICS - MAHESH KOLAR and JAMES METSZINGER’s important parliamentary debate round with the topic “in-n-out burger vs baby food”. An excellent and civil round, you two.
BEST EVALUATOR - as always, JACOB PANANGAT is honest, unguarded, and intellectual, which was a perfect fit for the speech he evaluated (see below)
BEST SPEAKER - “Buckle Up Buttercup” by ALISON SHOMAKER shows a subtle, yet masterful storyteller revealing only 10% of her full power for us. About motherhood, pet ownership, mistakes, lessons learned, drugs, etc… she will do great things
We shall see you all next week :)

Last night's meeting (Thursday, May 28) was a case of quality over quantity. We had a lower-than-usual attendance, likely because of the Memorial Day holiday weekend a few days earlier. Still, we had fun and even one most interested guest. Below are the winners: L to R: Donna for Enthusiasm; Joey for Table Topics; Haley for Best Speaker; and Robert (as usual) for Best Evaluator.
