This year, our partner is introducing Food Heroes In Your Neighborhood: Six categories to start — but if the person you’re thinking of doesn’t fit one, make up your own. Organizations count too.

How to nominate:

Message your person: “The theme for Food Waste Prevention Week this year is ‘Food Heroes in Your Neighborhood,’ and I nominate you.”
Ask them to share a photo and one sentence on why this work matters to them.
Grab a template above and add their name, photo, and category. Some suggested categories are listed below. Don’t see one that fits? Create your own.
Caption it: “I’m nominating (First Name) as (Category) because _.”
Tag and your nominee.
Share it to your story.
Ask your nominee to pass it on within 48 hours. They nominate their own Food Hero and repeat the steps above.
