Summer is a joyful time at Silverado Encinitas, where children of our associates come to work alongside residents. To show our appreciation, they were treated to three unforgettable days of Kids Kamp! 💙

At Silverado, intergenerational programming is more than an activity—it's a cornerstone of our mission to honor dignity, build meaningful connections, and help dispel the stigma surrounding dementia. Research shows these shared experiences can increase joy, encourage engagement, and foster positive relationships for people living with dementia while helping children develop empathy and understanding.

This year's Kids Kamp was hosted in our Nexus neighborhood and featured three action-packed themes: 🏆 Sports Day, 🎨 Make Fun Stuff Day, and 🎉 Fun Zone Day. Together with the Engagement team, volunteers (including high school students who grew up at Silverado Encinitas) and Nexus residents cheering them on, the kids enjoyed spirited soccer matches, friendly game challenges, water balloon and sq**rt gun battles, and bottle-rocket car races! There was birdhouse painting, pizza-making with our Culinary team, yummy frozen treats🍧 and plenty of bounce house fun!

As the week came to a close, everyone headed home with handcrafted keepsakes, goodie bags, new friendships, and wonderful memories to cherish. Thank you to everyone who made Kids Kamp another incredible celebration of laughter, connection, and community! 💙

🎡 Our Nexus residents had a blast at the San Diego County Fair! We explored our favorite exhibits, searching for blue-ribbon winners in the livestock, fine arts, home crafts, and floral competitions. 🌸🏆🐄Of course, no trip to the fair is complete without sampling a few delicious deep-fried and frozen treats! 🍦🍿 We even brought back bags of fresh kettle corn to share with our community friends. From enjoying live music to watching an entertaining bird show, the day was filled with laughter, adventure, and wonderful memories. We can't wait for our next outing! ❤️

A new chapter begins at Silverado.

This month, we proudly welcomed Wayne Sanner as our new Chief Executive Officer and President, as our founder, Loren Shook, stepped into the role of Executive Chairman and Founder.

For nearly 30 years, Loren led Silverado with one guiding belief: every person deserves to be treated with dignity, purpose, and love. That belief became who we are.

That legacy now moves forward. Wayne brings more than 25 years of healthcare leadership and the same commitment to the people at the heart of everything we do.

Join us in celebrating Loren's incredible impact, and in welcoming Wayne to this next era. The future is bright and together, we'll keep changing lives with purpose, compassion, and excellence.

Silverado Announces Leadership Transition as Wayne Sanner Assumes Role of Chief Executive Officer and President Silverado enters a new chapter as Wayne Sanner assumes leadership, building on founder Loren Shook's legacy of innovation and compassionate care.

We proudly celebrated America's 250th Anniversary with a star-spangled celebration—joined by Uncle Sam himself! ❤️🤍💙The festivities kicked off with a spirited reading of the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution, honoring our nation's rich history and enduring freedoms. Residents, families, and guests then enjoyed lunch, games, and a sing-along to their favorite American classics. Thank you to all our guests who made it a fun and memorable holiday weekend!
