š Curious to know what attachment style you might trend towards? š
I truly believe that we should be taught this information as early in life as possible. Unfortunately, we are not, and a lot of this info that could be extremely helpful in navigating all of our relationships isnāt figured out until weāre pretty deep into these patterns/strategies.
In the video I share a quick question that I ask at the start of working with any new couple. This one question is often all I need to ask in order to get a good feel for what attachment āstrategyā someone tends to lean towards.
I like to refer to these more as strategies , rather than āstyles.ā Because, at the end of the day, thatās essentially what they are - just strategies weāve learned to attempt emotional regulation in the face of relational conflict, as well as something we hope maintains the connection.
Sadly, when we lean more toward the insecure side of attachment, the strategies often backfire and get us stuck in cycles of distress that eventually end up eroding the relationship.
In a coming post, Iām going to discuss these what these strategies look like a little more in depth, as well as break down the cycle of distress and even share a cool little diagram that gives a detailed look at said cycle.

Such a rad event on the beach last Saturday.
Iāve never been to anything quite like this before! Started with yoga on the beach led by the one and only with providing the background musical vibes.
After the yoga, as the sun set, it turned into a full on dance party like Iāve never seen or been a part of, with DJ sets by the amazing .blu and the incredible ! And we all danced our faces off until we could barely walk out of there.
Huge thanks to .love and (sweatshirt is from them) for putting on so many mind-blowing community events!
Addiction is a maladaptive coping mechanism. Plain and simple.
Itās a very complex biopsychosocial problem. But, at the end of the day all of us probably have some sort of addiction, even if itās just our doom scroll time, and itās primary purpose is either to drive up good feelings in some way, or to help escape bad feelings in some way.
More often than not, itās tied to some sort of trauma and deep pain, even if that pain is largely unconscious. Often when Iām working with someone that has a loved one with an addiction I like to tell them, āAddiction is not trying to feel good all the time, it actually trying not to feel bad all the time.ā

Thereās a reason I posted that little game on my Instagram the other day if you saw it. And itās related to how Instagramās algorithm works, and I was running a little test. And the test actually worked and it did what I thought it was gonna do.
