We worked with Onni to name and brand , their newest cafe located in Old Town. Inspired by the feeling of attempting to start your day without coffee—you’ve picked up the phone, but you’re not dialing yet—Dialtone exudes a classic, somewhat eccentric charm. ☕️ 📞🍷

Welcome back to the second installment of our Round 1 series where we take a look at real first round presentations, shown in all their mockup glory. When we present a first round, we typically show three options, which we refer to as “mild, medium, and spicy.” We’re always looking for ways to push ideas to their limit in order to find boundaries, while still providing something that feels approachable.
For this project, we were tasked with creating an identity for a new dairy-free ice cream* supercharged with beneficial ingredients to make you feel good about a lil sweet treat. (*Technically not ice cream because there’s no dairy!) We looked carefully for visual gaps in the marketplace, exploring an intentionally rough-around-the-edges direction that connected to the idea of raw ingredients; a direction that leaned into the innocence with a fun, youthful direction that captures the child-like joy of a guilt-free bowl of ice cream; and finally a direction that aimed to be dark, sensual, and a little bit provocative, playing with the idea of what it means to be “dirty”.
Let us know in the comments which direction you would have picked!

For this project, we tackled a brand refresh for Quince & Apple, a craft preserves manufacturer out of Madison looking to expand their marketshare as they sought national distribution. They also had a few other product lines that we sought to unify under the primary brand.
