Almost Home Dog Rescue

LIVE. LOVE. LEARN. It is also our mission to prepare our adoptive families for a smooth transition and a better outcome. But we can’t do this alone.
Almost Home Dog Rescue advocates for the rescue and care of unwanted homeless dogs until they can be placed in permanent homes for a new second chance and to educate dog owners to help ensure a better outcome for a successful adoption. Almost Home Dog Rescue is a non-profit, no-kill, foster-based, all volunteer rescue organization dedicated to rescuing and rehabilating dogs at risk and in danger of an untimely death. We all share the passion of helping these homeless dogs who don’t have a voice, who won’t have a chance, without organizations such as this one, helping them to a new beginning. It is our mission to seek out dogs where there is need, to bring them to us where they are placed in loving foster homes and prepare them for their forever families. Our community outreach program will offer New Adopter classes whether you adopt from us or not. We need your help. Adopt, don’t shop. If you can’t adopt, foster. If you can’t foster, volunteer or donate to our cause. We may not be able to make a difference to all of the dogs in the world, but for the dogs we are able to rescue, we will make a world of difference. Education
Almost Home Dog Rescue is committed to helping educate owners or potential owners about dog training and dog behavior. We strive to make sure each dog that we adopt stay in their adoptive home. Each year, millions of dogs are returned to shelters or euthanized for behavior issues that could have been avoided if the adopter had the knowledge and skills to prevent and/or address these unwanted behaviors. We offer free seminars about dogs and dog behavior, as well as free adopter’s workshops to teach adopters about anything and everything they need to know about their new dog. We have free puppy play times to discuss body language and play styles. We provide education about spaying and neutering. We want to help people to be able to identify when and if their dog may have an issue or problem that can be address as soon as possible. We have access to a network of positive dog trainers in Maryland and will offer discounts to training classes and or/private sessions as needed.

Marina and Daisy are both female, young labradoodles both looking for two different fosters. They both are being treated for medical conditions (Marina had infected eyes and just had entropian surgery, she is recovering well but foster will be going on vacation) (Daisy was diagnosed with heartworms, no symptoms and is expected to recover treatment, needs a foster during treatment). Both are super sweet, good with kids and dogs. More details in the petfinder postings, happy to discuss in more detail with an approved foster/adopter.
