Job description:

POSITION: Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) Instructor
TEACHING HOURS:
Monday to Friday-From 9 AM to 5 PM or from 4 PM to 8:30 PM
SCHOOL LOCATIONS: Workforce Advantage, Union City, NJ and Elizabeth, NJ

JOB SUMMARY:

Create the schedules for each class approval.
Provide the student with the basic nurse aide knowledge and skills needed to care for residents of long-term care facilities.
Evaluate the student's classroom and clinical performance.
Input the student's information into PSI's data base.
Use the required items to teach textbooks, handouts, videos, and exams from the lesson plans approved by NJDOH.

REQUIREMENTS:

- Be currently licensed in New Jersey as a registered professional nurse;

- Possess at least two years of nursing experience;

- Possess at least one year of experience as a registered professional nurse in a licensed long-term care facility;

- Have successfully completed a training workshop in teaching adults or have experience in teaching adults or supervising nurse aides.

- In a facility-based program, the training of nurse aides may be performed pursuant to the general supervision of the director of nursing for the facility who is prohibited from performing the actual training, pursuant to 42 CFR 483.152(a)(5)(iii); and

- Professionals identified at 42 CFR 483.152(a)(5)(iv) who have at least one year of experience in their field may supplement the training of the instructor

-Bilingual (English/ Spanish) preferred
