Transitioning to a bell-to-bell device-free day can feel like a big shift, especially for middle and high school students who are used to having their phones on hand.

As parents, you play a key role in making this transition smooth! Here are 3 quick ways to help your child manage phone anxiety before Day 1:

🔹 Build stamina: Try screen-free blocks during study or family time this week.

🔹 Focus on the benefits: Frames this as a dedicated break from social media stress and continuous notifications.

🔹 Reassure communication: Remind them that urgent messages can always be routed directly through the Main Office.

🔹 Encourage In-Person Connections: Remind your student to pack a book, journal, or sketchbook, and encourage them to join student activities, after-school clubs, or sports to build strong, face-to-face friendships that are beneficial during screen-free breaks!
