As the Director of Racial Equity Storytelling and Community Impact at the Office of Community, Empowerment, and Opportunity in the City of Philadelphia, Dr. Castillo leads the integration of racial equity into governmental operations and community engagement. She is also a board member at Scattergood Foundation, co-founder of Blasian Solidarity, a grassroots collective, and a leading voice against anti-Asian hate in Philadelphia.

Lies are Contagious” (in both the English and Spanish versions) was developed to educate Latinos on the prevalence of COVID-19 and other health misinformation spread on Latinx-frequented platforms. It offers general guidance on how to spot and properly respond to misinformation online so that everyone can help slow the spread of mis/disinformation in their communities.
