Proud to join House Of Hearts Network as a panelist for their “A Lesson in Civics: Roundtable” as part of the Future Leader Fellowship at Kean University. 🏫🎓

Having the opportunity to connect with the leaders of the next generation is both an honor and a responsibility. Today’s conversation is about community, government, civic engagement, and the responsibility we all share to help shape the future — and leave it stronger for those who come after us.

The future belongs to the next generation, but preparing them for it is something we all have a role in.

On Sunday, I had the honor and pleasure of meeting former President of the Dominican Republic, Dr. Leonel Fernández Reyna, during his visit to Torre Fuerte Church in Elizabeth, NJ.

A heartfelt thank you to Pastor Vientos for the invitation and for allowing me to be part of such a meaningful occasion.

Here in Elizabeth, the Dominican community is an integral part of the city, enriching our city’s cultural diversity, contributing to its economic growth, and strengthening the bonds that make our community so vibrant.

¡Es un orgullo reconocer la historia, la cultura y las contribuciones de la comunidad dominicana, que enriquecen nuestra ciudad de Elizabeth!

¡Que viva la República Dominicana y que siga creciendo nuestra comunidad! 🇩🇴❤️

Had an unforgettable time this weekend supporting my good friend, recording artist and DJ P La Cangri , at Cigarro Bar and Lounge in Hackensack! 🎧🔥

I had the opportunity to catch the New York Giants’ season opener against division rivals, the Dallas Cowboys at MetLife Stadium. Great night for football and a great way to kick off the season! Great job New York Giants, 28-20! 👏💙🏈

Nothing beats being in the stadium, surrounded by fellow fans and enjoying the energy of game day! 🙌

I’m proud to support Isaias Rivera, Council-Elect for the Second Ward. 🤝

Isaias is going to be a great addition to our City Council come January. I know he’s going to do great things for the Second Ward and for the residents he’ll represent.

Public service is not an easy job. It takes someone who is responsive, responsible, willing to listen, and, importantly, willing to pick up the phone when residents need help. Those are qualities I’ve already seen in Isaias and I look forward to working with him.

Wishing him the very best in the November General Election! 👏🇺🇸

The Elizabeth City Council has voted unanimously to prohibit data centers as a permitted use in all zone districts throughout the City of Elizabeth.

As Council President, I supported Ordinance No. 6314 because our land-use policies must reflect the health, safety, and quality of life of our residents.

The ordinance recognizes the significant demands data centers can place on electricity, water, sewer infrastructure, and surrounding communities, particularly in a densely populated city like Elizabeth. It also establishes clear definitions for data centers and accessory server rooms while prohibiting data centers in all city zones.

Importantly, the ordinance still allows accessory server rooms in non-residential zones when they directly support the primary business on the property, are not operated primarily for third-party services such as cloud computing or cryptocurrency mining, and remain limited to 10% of the building’s gross floor area or 1,000 square feet, whichever is less.

This is responsible land-use planning that considers Elizabeth’s infrastructure, natural resources, and the long-term interests of our residents.

Today, we remember September 11, 2001, and the 2,977 lives that were taken far too soon. 🇺🇸

We honor the victims, their families, the first responders, and all those who showed extraordinary courage in the face of unimaginable loss.

May we never forget. 🕊️
