With early voting underway, and many young voters going to the poles for the first time, I thought this was a good time to replay this video.
Making sure that your candidates align with your personal values and beliefs is important, and sometimes harder to identify than you think. Hopefully this helps clarify your values.

Grief is something we all experience in life, and it looks and feels different for everyone.

One of the most important things to remember is that grief isn’t linear. Be patient with yourself. You don't have to ‘move on’ or ‘get over it.’ Grief is part of healing. It’s also ok to feel happiness and love during your journey of healing. All of that is normal and you shouldn’t feel guilty about it!

Don't be afraid to talk to trusted people for support. Sharing what you're going through can help you process your grief.

Most importantly, give yourself time and grace. Healing has no expiration and often comes in waves and also when you least expect it. Your grief is valid, and in time, you WILL find your way through it if you allow yourself to process it.

This is dedicated to all of us who have been through so much and still keep going!

Advocating for one's self sounds like it should be simple, but it's actually difficult for most adults, let alone teens and young adults. We are so often afraid to upset someone that we don't ask for even our most basic wants and needs.

*So first, understand your needs and what you want to achieve.
*Then Communicate Clearly. Be assertive, not aggressive.
*Make sure you set goals. Keep your goals clear and realistic.
*Then Practice! Role-play different situations to build confidence. Learn from each experience, whether you succeed or not.
*Be Persistent. Don’t be discouraged by setbacks. Every effort is a step toward improvement.

Teaching a teen to advocate for themselves is an important skill that can empower them to navigate school, relationships, and future career paths with confidence.

Knowing exactly what you believe in and stand for can sometimes be unclear, especially for younger people when so many opinions are constantly bombarding us every moment of every day! And ESPECIALLY in an Election Year when you may be new(er) to voting! Knowing what is important to YOU is essential to help you choose a candidate that works with your beliefs and values.
Here is a guideline to help you clarify what values and beiefs are important to you so you can pick the candidate that shares the same ideals.

*First, sitting down with your thoughts and journal about what matters most to you.
*Think about who and what influences you; what qualities do you admire most?
*Examine choices you’ve made and any emotions that went along with them.
*Rank your values to help you narrow down what is most and least important.
*Define each value in your own words and reflect on how well your life aligns with them now.
*And remember that values evolve, so periodically reassess them to ensure they resonate with who you are at that time.

Remember, finding out who YOU ARE and what YOU stand for will help make life decisions much easier and a lot less stressful.

Such an important article for our teens/young adults and parents of them to read! There are so many wonderful qualities of Gen Z, but if they can't translate them into the working world, they are going to struggle unnecessarily. Giving our kids the knowledge and skills to transition into adulthood and the expectations that may be new to them is so important!

Mental health affects everyone, yet it’s often overlooked. While the signs may be clear, fear of judgment or upsetting others can prevent us from seeking help. Early intervention is key—it helps manage symptoms, build coping skills, and prevent issues from worsening.
Life coaches help an individual what guidance is right for them, but sometimes different professional help is needed. These amazing professionals provide a safe space to address challenges and support healing. If someone is struggling, acknowledge it and encourage them to seek the help they need. They may not accept it right away, but don’t give up. And if you're grieving, remember you're not alone!! Reach out for support yourself to navigate the complicated emotions of losing someone you love.

Gratitude is more than just saying "thank you"—it's a powerful mindset that can reshape the way we experience life. By taking time to recognize and appreciate the good around us, we shift our perspective from what we lack to what we have. This simple act of gratitude can reduce stress, lift our spirits, and even enhance our physical well-being.
Gratitude also strengthens our relationships by making others feel seen and valued. Whether through prayer, volunteering, meditation, or simply expressing appreciation, there are countless ways to practice gratitude. By making it a daily habit, we create a sense of peace and fulfillment, reminding ourselves that even in tough times, there is always something to be grateful for.

What IS Mindfulness??
MIndfulness is so many things. But overall it's the practice of being fully engaged in the present moment, with an open and non-judgmental awareness of your thoughts, emotions, and surroundings. It involves focusing on what's happening right now, without dwelling on the past or worrying about the future. By practicing mindfulness, we can break away from living on autopilot and instead experience life more deeply. Whether through deep breathing, mindful eating, or simply noticing your environment, mindfulness helps you stay grounded in the present, allowing you to approach life’s challenges with greater calm and purpose.
So practice being mindful and tell me how it has positively impacted your life!
