Maya seriously brought it. Smiles are great, but I LOVE a good soulful stare. And I think it takes a lot of the pressure off of kids and parents (and me) when I’m asking them NOT to smile.

I just love when families embrace the intent of a session! This one could be described as regal, I think.

I described these sessions as my Vanity Fair minis and they did not disappoint! This is a new editing style for me, but I’m thinking of creating a new offering for these more posed, fine art photos. Would you be interested?

Abigail came with me to the studio to test some light out for me. She usually has a Mona Lisa smile, but I love that I caught this big happy smile. We’ve been seeing more smiles since she got out of the hospital and received her Crohn’s diagnosis. She’s just so happy to KNOW what the issue is and to have started treatment. I’m hoping we’ll have more smiles as she heals and starts to feel better. Today she takes her driving test to get her driver’s license! We’ll see how that goes…
