Watercolor Painting: Carnival Squash and Gargoyle Pumpkins - SilverKite Online Workshops

In celebration of nature's festive expression participants will paint carnival squash and gargoyle pumpkins using wet on wet, splattering and dry brushing techniques.

Supplies:

Acrylic paints-white, brown, blue, green, black, orange, yellow
Paper towels
Water and water container
Paintbrushes (flat and round)
Palette or palette paper
Mixed media paper or canvas

Dying and Grieving in the West- Online Event
Monday October 12 6:00 PM- 7:30 PM

Humans have been intentionally caring for their beloved dead a very long time, but our modern traditions leave many people feeling like something might be missing from the funeral and bereavement process. Dying and Grieving in the West will cover a short history of deathcare up through the modern funeral in the United States, dive into how the Western funeral was born, how modern deathcare movements are bringing changes to this important lifecycle event, and how our understanding of grief has changed in recent decades.

Venessa Greenheron is a death midwife working at the intersection of art, ceremony, and death. Her work is dedicated to helping others bring ritual, joy, and beauty into our end-of-life experiences, and increasing death literacy at a community level in order to better care for each other.

This event is part of Sno-Isle Reads Together. The 2026 selection is Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt. Discover additional Sno-Isle Reads Together events, including three opportunities to meet the author. Sno-Isle Reads Together is funded by the Sno-Isle Libraries Foundation.

Ballet Folklórico Xochiquetzal is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and celebrating the rich cultural heritage of Mexico's indigenous storytelling through traditional folklórico dance, music, and education. Through engaging performances, audiences experience the beauty and diversity of Mexico’s regional traditions while learning about their historical and Indigenous roots.
