All the 2K primer/sealer applied, going to let it dry to total seal (2-3) days then long block an prep for paint !
Snowpearl white base, 2 midcoats of blue pearl and will finish up with 5 coats of the clearest of all clear coats.
In the meantime I’ll paint all the brackets and mounts for a Satin Black finish

I just re-learned two very specific but related things today !
1- if you test your finger for it’s “puncture resistance” it kinda still stings, and by releasing a bit of the red stuff your BP will not diminish at all !! Haaa
2- Should you decide to run this test for yourself leakage will be a normal occurrence, but as you grab the rag closest to you, you should try not to grab a rag that you doused with thinner minutes prior to said blood letting !!
However as a plus,it will make you notice that your instant air intake will exceed your lung capacity 😎
And at that exact moment the lovely Lila opens the side door as I exhale with an enthusiastic choice of words ! 😎😎

It’s Saturday ( i thought it was Sunday) so I kept my goals to a minimum!
I needed to get the last coat of SPI Epoxy on the top,DONE !! So while I was playing cars in the shop I decided to put the heat on the top to bake it while I prepped to lay on a coupla coats of Matrix K2 high build! DONE !!
Now I think I just might tackle that ornery pass rear door gap that been haunting me ! Haaaaa
Deciding on which way of many to bring it up to Lila’s specs 😎 (I’m not happy with the way it looks either)
Choices ?
I can add weld to the back edge of the door, or slice the 1/4 panel an stretch it to where it’s perfect !!
BTW - The top turned out absolutely awesome and straight.
So I’ll ponder that while I straighten up an sweep the Shop.
Also , i got in a hurry when i put all the interior in, now it’s costing me time when i have to retape it each time i work on it ! Oh well its all playing cars an i enjoy every minute of it !!

Let the Teardown commence.
With Lila’s help
On a car that’s 58 years old, don’t expect anything easy to come apart.
You should probably expect a good fight on a unmolested car, the Firebird is no exception.
#1 an main problem is to not strip out the bolts, 2nd problem is your gonna find rust in the worst possible places!
Just take your time an focus on one bolt at a time. You’ll win eventually but you’ll earn that win !
So far I’ve not seen anything major, looks like I’m going to replace the header panel, but I think I can salvage the Rt inner fender with some cutting an restoration on its front lower part !
AC lines are in tact an still works but I’m going to try to hide all the lines or at least make it much more presentable !
So I’ll get busy an finish the front end teardown so I can get the drivetrain out today !
Ambitious ? Yes but that’s my goal for today .
Notice how “smashed” the frame mount insulator’s are? They lasted 58 years, not putting poly bushings in but instead I’ll replace with Factory Style rubber !

Hey Tesla Car Co..
Why are you dummer than you look ?
Why don’t you put solar panels on the horizontal surfaces of the crap you build !!
You do know that there is a paint that can do that as well don’t you ?
Please try not to FU my planet more.
Just my thoughts !!!

Getting the Harleys ready for summer , I noticed Lila’s tires were getting pretty worn so I ordered her some very awesome tires front and rear !!
Front - Pirelli 140/75/R17 Night Dragons
Rear - Pirelli 200/55/R17 Night Dragon
They should give her some very awesome bite on the curves we’re planning on hitting hard this summer !!
I put two new tires on mine last year, so its ready !!
I will obviously need to go completely over every inch of the bikes before heading out !!
Nope we’re not heading to the usual places , we’re gonna head north anout 900 mi and then west about 400 mi !!!
Guess where ?

Wow , it’s one thing to build a great trailer , but adding all the things you have to do to hold $50,000.00 worth of bikes and haul safely down any given road takes tidious thinking and engineering/fabrication.
I had been seeing a new way to tie down motorcycles for transport but I wasn’t sure, so off I go to the pro’s to ask for advice (yes I still ask advice) from IRON NATION HARLEY DAVISON!
I talked to everyone there Jennifer Charlie, Coty , a cat in the parking lot and two people at the car wash across the street!!!
Everyone said “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it !! So I made another set of my “RustyNuts” bike brackets !!! Strapped them in my normal way an Lila Vanover Judkins and I drove them around town a bit for a shake down !!!
All passed with perfect scores !👍👍👍
That trailer pulls amazing, I made the calculations and extended the toung out so it will track exactly in my trucks tracks!!! Bare in mind it’s 18” wider so that was kinda tricky to get it to do that !
NOW , backing it loaded into my shop WAS NOT FUN IN THE DARK !!
I have a 103” door opening and my trailer is 102” yes 1/2” on each side to spare !!!! Took me three shots but I made it , Lila was my look out and that was a HUGE help !!!

2011 ford cab corners rusted out !!
Compilation of pics from start to color coat !!
Probably the hardest color to blend !!!
05/06/2020
2011 F 150 , prone to rust at cab corners !
Check to make sure vent under rocker is sealed !!! I found this truck was open an water an dirt collected causing rust !!
Disc was to cut all rust area out to see the extent of damage !! It was fairly invasive on this one !!!
18 ga cold roll steel was used an shaped to fit properly !!
Gap is perfect 3/16 in in steel !!!
Just a 1/16 skim coat of filler needed an then to prime an blend paint back !!
Hi folks , sorry it’s been a while !!!
Exciting news , I have three very awesome builds this summer.
1938 Chevy delux , of which some have noticed I’ve already done the chassis on last year !!
Second 1967 Camero for none other than the infamous Jake Simpson, to push into the paint booth very shortly,
And a 1989 K5 blazer for Earl Makins. It’s going to get a complete drivetrain rebuild , paint and interior !!!
Stay tuned I’ll post a few pics along the way !!!
Ask a few questions and I’ll do my best to illustrate what’s and why’s on it !!!
I will also be refitting a 120ci in a 2016 Harley Breakout !!!
K2 - peace
