Trying to be the coach who has plenty of knowledge but can also always answer the question, “can you SHOW me?”, with a 😎 ✨
..which also means I’m the elder millenial icing my knees after sprint drills with the high schoolers. 😅

Let me take a quick second to say thanks for 👍 this page. My goal is to just have a place to share things I'm personally interested in around health/fitness/lifestyle, my client journeys and my own path of learning. Hopefully, more folks get to know me and my coaching style!
If you see something you like, save it or share it! Questions/advice? I'm all ears.

If you guys are anything like me, “eating healthy” can seem a little monotonous. My brain loves eating good food but it hates thinking about how/what to make. My attempt to solve this problem for myself has led to me really lean on cookbooks. Engage with your food and feel the difference. It’s a big deal. Cooking more meals with your own two hands is a big step towards improving 🧠 & 💪🏾
Here’s my latest grab from Dr. Mark Hyman! Check out his book for meals built around colorful plants and anchored by healthy proteins.

Sometimes you just get an itch for a challenge. To take on something just a little out of reach. First it was just walking then over 50 miles it became a bit more 😳. Great job TEAM and thanks for the support, friends and family!

The game is changing.
_
Not just the fitness industry becoming more competitive in every way, but that as coaches it’s time to REALLY think about saving and changing lives... not just building athletes.
_
Many of you got into coaching years ago. Awesome. You’ve had a long time to accumulate education and experience.
_
Just make sure your education and experience is something that you can use to help the people that desperately need it.
_
Coaching early adopters into a fitness movement is easy because as clients they want it. They’re also often more naturally athletically inclined and interested in performance. That’s low hanging fruit for a coach to find improvement with.
_
The next massive wave of clients to enter this industry (it’s already happening) does not “want” to be fitter, they need to. Or they will die. Literally. They are more overweight, dysfunctional, and diseased than most people realize.
_
These will not be your natural athletes.
_
These will not be people who are excited about going to the gym.
_
These will not be easy humans to coach.
_
If you only have a handful of tools in your toolbox as a coach as progressions, scales, and substitutions, you’re already WAY behind.
_
If you can’t identify an individual’s limitations of mobility, skill, and strength, there will be great difficulty in you helping them progress.
_
All the technical stuff IS important, but it’s not what matters most.
_
Can you motivate and inspire?
_
Can you make people that don’t want to go to the gym, want to go to the gym?
_
Do you know how to make people that don’t want to be better, want to be better?
_
What truly matters isn’t getting people more reps, heavier lifts, or faster times.
_
It’s helping them understand why fitness matters, how they can do it, and what they are truly capable of.
_
Do you: Study persuasion and influence? Analyze great speakers and leaders? Pay attention to body language (yours and others)? Work on your empathy and emotional intelligence?
_
If you are not working to be a better communicator and leader, you will fail to connect with the people that need you. They will suffer.
_
Not interested in growing those areas as a coach, 👋
