Dancing for Eternity seeks to honor Jesus by providing dance scholarships and dance opportunities to those who may not be able to afford it.

Our daughter, Hope Elizabeth Shaffer, 15, was on the path to reach her dream of becoming a professional ballerina. She dreamed of one day providing ballet lessons to students whose families could not afford them. Hope felt that all children should be able to learn the art of ballet if they truly had the desire. Unfortunately, her life was cut short in an auto accident, and now in her memory we wou

As part of the worship dance portion of our camp, our summer camp director had the girls learn the first portion of Hope’s dance to Priceless and then they sat and watched the rest of it. That part of the showcase was incredibly meaningful to Nick and I as we watched our girl dance in full screen behind the girls recreating it. It was an emotional experience by far that had us sobbing! I wanted to share some of these beautiful photos with you. I’m so grateful that we can keep Hope’s spirit alive in this ballet camp. She loved dancing for Jesus and expressing her love for him through dance. I hope it was meaningful for the girls and audience as well. - Charla Shaffer, Hope’s mom

One thing for sure is that I don’t get a lot of sleep during the week of camp as details and more details buzz around my brain. And the emotion of it all plays a part, too. So in the middle of the night, I’ve had a lot of time to think and pray since sleep has been so elusive. In the middle of one night, it dawned on me that we talk a lot about Hope’s dream here at Dancing for Eternity, and rightly so, but God revealed to me that it is HIS dream spoken to her that he was going to fulfill through her. It came from him, and she was the right person for the mission with the right heart to do it. I have no doubt, had she lived, she would have obediently done exactly what he placed in her heart. What an incredible honor and how humbling it is to have that same mission placed upon us in her place. It brings me personally so very much joy to be able to do it. And I’m in awe that God would allow us to fulfill the dream he gave her. - Charla Shaffer, Hope’s mom and President of Dancing for Eternity

I wish I could fully convey what today meant to me - the first day of year six of our free ballet summer camp. Sitting back today for a minute and letting it fully sink in that we are doing this camp because it was Hope’s dream and doing it like she envisioned filled my soul to the brim. To see the delight and joy on the girls’ faces was truly priceless for me. I still am not sure how we pull off such a huge undertaking, but I’m super grateful for a great team of board members, committee members, volunteers, and donors who pour their hearts into seeing Hope’s vision come true over and over again. I’m truly appreciative to be able to a part of these girls’ lives for a few days this week and often wonder what Hope would say about it all. - Charla Shaffer, Hope’s mom and President of D4E
