Showtyme Angels won their first game against Impressions of Asaba at the just concluded WESIE FEMALE LEAGUE GRAND FINALE but lost the quarter final game to Divine Speed of Warri in a closely contested game,Showtyme Angels top performer Tobi Ogedengbe was missed and the likes of Sunbo,Oyin,Nofisat,Imole,Ajoke n co stepped up big time but fell short of a shot at the finals.It was a great experience and exposure for the IB City Angels.Suns from Jos won the prestigious WESIE FEMALE LEAGUE defeating Dolphins of Lagos

Showtyme Angels Set for WESIE Female Basketball League Grand Finals

Showtyme Angels are set for the Grand Finals of the WESIE Female Basketball League after an impressive and hard-fought campaign through the South West Playoffs.

The team comes into the finals on the back of strong form, having dominated the Ibadan Basketball Championship 2026 just weeks ago. That momentum carried into the WESIE South West Playoffs, where they faced some of the region’s toughest sides.

Their campaign began with a 43–32 victory over Dodan Amazons of Lagos, a result that marked a turnaround from their earlier meeting during the South West Qualifiers in Lagos.

They then faced a tough test against Dolphins of Lagos, the reigning NBBF Female League champions, falling 32–49 in a challenging encounter.

However, the defining moment of their run came against defending WESIE champions, Victoria Queens of Lagos. In a competitive clash at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan, Showtyme Angels delivered a composed performance to secure a 51–44 victory, overturning the result from their earlier meeting at the qualifying stage.

Entering the South West Final Four as underdogs, the team’s resilience and determination have been central to their journey, earning them a place in the Grand Finals.

With confidence high and momentum on their side, Showtyme Angels now turn their focus to the Grand Finale, where they will look to complete a remarkable run.

The team has also acknowledged the support of fans, friends, and families who have stood by them throughout the competition.

Showtyme Angels made it through to the WESIE Female Basketball League Grand Finals! After dominating the just concluded Ibadan Basketball Championship 2026 couple of weeks ago our girls are back again with series of upsets at the WESIE South West Playoffs! Showtyme Angels defeated Dodan Amazon of Lagos 43-32 in the opening game after losing to them earlier during the WESIE South West Qualifications in Lagos few weeks ago in the first upset of the Playoffs! 🏀 Our girls lost the 2nd game to the NBBF Female League Champions,Dolphins of Lagos 32-49. The bigger upset was the win against the Victoria Queens of Lagos! Showtyme Angels defeated the defending champions of the WESIE Female Basketball League 51-44 in an epic showdown @ the Lekan Salami Stadium Adamasingba after the first encounter at the qualifying stages went their way ! We came in to the Playoffs as the underdogs but the resilient efforts of our girls qualified us for the WESIE Grand Finale! Much luv n respect to the entire team,our friends,fans n families for coming out to support us,see y’all at the Grand Finale ! 🏀
