We would like to congratulate Administrative Assistant Shontella Jackson on her retirement. Mrs. Jackson has proudly served our department since 2003. We would like to thank Mrs. Jackson for her many years of service to our department and community. We wish you a safe and healthy retirement!

Crews had a great time helping the first grade students at Indian River Elementary School celebrate the end of the school year today! Students got the chance to cool off and have some fun getting sprayed down by the fire truck!

Last night, crews responded to a vehicle fire and quickly brought the incident under control.

This evening, our crews quickly extinguished a residential structure fire. During the incident, firefighters were also able to safely rescue a dog from inside the structure and provide oxygen on scene.

We are happy to report she is doing great!

This week, our crews are conducting “bailout” training at the Port Orange Fire & Rescue Training Tower! We practice the skill of exiting a window using a life safety rope bag on multiple story buildings where ladders may not reach.

Yesterday evening, crews responded after a dog named Kodak found itself on the wrong side of a canal.

We are happy to report Kodak was safely reunited with his family!
