At Thursday evening's Edgewater Rotary meeting, we were treated to a presentation from one of our youngest members, Gage Guinter, about his experience at RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards).

Earlier this month, RYLA hosted its Youth Summit Leadership Conference at Stetson University, bringing together students from across the region for a weekend focused on leadership, teamwork, and personal growth. Edgewater Rotary was proud to sponsor two students to attend this incredible event, and Gage served as a Senior Mentor, helping guide and encourage a group of young men throughout the conference.

We are thrilled to see students engaging in such a meaningful and life-changing experience. Programs like RYLA help develop the next generation of leaders, and we couldn't be prouder of Gage for stepping up to lead, mentor, and represent Edgewater Rotary so well.

Thank you, Gage, for sharing your experience with us and for making a positive impact on the future leaders of our community!

The Rotary Club of Edgewater is proud to introduce a meaningful new community initiative: the Veteran Cane Project.

Through this special project, used pool cues are being repurposed into handcrafted walking canes for local veterans. Each cane is customized with a decorative topper representing the veteran’s branch of military service, creating a unique and personal way to honor those who have served our country.

These canes will be provided FREE of charge to local veterans as a small token of appreciation for their sacrifice and dedication. Edgewater Rotary is honored to be able to give back to the men and women who have given so much for our nation.

Community support is an important part of this project. If you have used, broken, or damaged pool cues that you no longer need, please consider donating them to help create canes for veterans in our area. To donate pool cues or learn more about the project, please contact Steve Holmes at 386-299-3383.

Veterans who are in need of a cane are encouraged to complete an order form and return it to any member of Edgewater Rotary or email it to [email protected].

Order forms and additional information can be found online at edgewaterrotary.org.
