Fueled by Schultz, Anthony Flannery picked up his first career SK Modified victory at Stafford Motor Speedway on September 25 — then came right back on October 2 and made it two straight!

Congratulations to Anthony and the entire Chassis Pro team!

A podium sweep in the historic Outlaw 200 at Fulton Speedway over the weekend.

Mat Williamson took the win, followed by Felix Roy in second and Mike Mahaney Racing in third, with Stewart Friesen finishing fourth.

A strong showing all around for those .

Flathead Friday has become something of an annual tradition around here.

Few engines are as closely tied to the early days of American hot rodding and stock car racing as the Ford Flathead V8. Affordable, simple and easy to modify, the Flathead became a favorite of racers and helped shape the grassroots racing scene of the 1940s and ’50s

Almost a year to the day, we shared a look at one of Rob Schultz’s grandfather’s Flathead Ford pickup trucks. This year, we’re going back to his racing days.

This is a shot of a car his grandfathers raced during that era, including in 1951.

We’re fortunate to receive notes from Stafford Motor Speedway contingency award winners throughout the season, and an email we received today from young SK Light competitor Dylan Houghton made our day.

It’s . Who knew? Certainly not us. 😂

But we may as well honor the day with a little mathematical story about ullage.

Once upon a time, there was a racer who needed 8 gallons of fuel for weekly feature events.

Simple enough, the racer thought. 'I need 8 gallons, so I’ll contact Schultz for an 8-gallon fuel cell.'

But alas, the math wasn’t quite that simple.

Because a fuel cell also needs ullage — the airspace left inside the cell to allow for fuel expansion and air compression.

So our racer who needed 8 gallons of usable fuel actually needed a 10-gallon cell to provide the necessary room rather than filling the cell to capacity.

And there’s the moral of our mathematical story:

8 gallons of fuel ≠ an 8-gallon fuel cell.

Sometimes, the right answer takes a little math — and some expert advice.
