Medal Monday marks a big milestone for Mandi as she made her return to triathlon after a 10+ year hiatus. She had a great day on the course, redefined success for herself as an athlete and a mom, and is headed towards 70.3 Jones Beach in September.
đCongratulations, Mandi on making a bold return to a sport your love so much! This is just the beginning đĽ

đ
Medal Monday đ
celebrates two extraordinary women on two incredible journeys.
Catherine completed the NYRR Mastercard Womenâs Mini 10k injury-free!! It was her longest distance race since being plagued by injuries for several years.
Amanda landed top 3 in her age group at the Princeton Triathlon⌠what a way to open her triathlon season on her birthday weekend, nonetheless.
Congratulations!!!

Amanda and Matt take on the Princeton Triathlon, while Catherine and Mandi run through Central Park at the New York Mini 10k.

I said to someone recently, âyou donât actually have to like running in order to do it. You just have to like the way it makes you feel.â
I hated running. Iâve never thought of myself as a âgood runner.â But running became a vehicle for me to challenge myself in ways I never had and never knew I was capable of. Running taught me lessons I didnât know I needed to learn. Running became my gateway to triathlon. And thatâs when I finally started to love running.
Running is bigger than me⌠than you⌠than us.
Running doesnât care how fast you are.
It rewards consistency over perfection.â¨Courage over talent.
Strategy over ego.
Itâs about learning that youâre capable of more than you thought.
Itâs about keeping a promise to yourself when nobodyâs watching.
Itâs about finding out that confidence isnât something youâre born withâitâs something you build, one run at a time.
Itâs about discovering that progress comes from consistency, not perfection.
The miles donât matter - itâs the person you become because of those miles that do.
So today, Iâm celebrating every runner:
The beginner.â¨The comeback runner.â¨The marathoner.â¨The run-walker.
The âI only have 20 minutesâ runner
Running has a way of teaching lessons that have very little to do with running.
Whatâs the biggest lesson running has taught you?

This is a hard-hitting đ
Medal Monday đ
right here.
đĽNancy smashed her first triathlon. She was proudly the oldest competitor, and hit all of her goals which included
â
racing strong
â
finishing the race
â
not coming in last
And because she came to play, she finished first in her age group. A few months ago Nancy couldnât swim 1 lap without stopping. On race day, she swam for 300 meters.
đĽMike celebrated big with his first triathlon finish! Mike has been working so hard on his swim to become a triathlete because itâs the one thing thatâs held him back from putting all three sports together. But it didnât hold him back this weekend. He swam strong, crushed the bike, and owned the run. Canât wait to see what else lies ahead.
đĽAndrea had a breakthrough performance with a 2nd PLACE FEMALE finish, and first place in her age group. Thereâs really not much more I need to say other than HOLY COW and CONGRATULATIONS.đ
đĽThanks for a great day for our team, Abington!

You canât buy happiness. But you CAN buy confidence. And thatâs why you hire a coach.

Enjoy this picture of me circa 2012 wearing coke bottle glasses at a flea market in Colombia. Everything about this picture makes me laugh. And while I do take triathlon and coaching seriously, I also donât take myself too seriously. Life is for living.
DM if youâre training for Ironman and want to cross the finish line with CONFIDENCE.

Please enjoy this picture of me circa 2012 at a flea market in Colombia. Itâs literally one of my favorite pictures of me because all of it is so ridiculous. I take triathlon seriously, but we canât take ourselves too seriously sometimes.
