A wonderful Burns Science and Technology Charter School Board member Suzanne Jarrell reached out wanting to donate something extra special and festive to welcome everyone back for the first day of school — and of course, we had to run with this year’s theme, “Soaring to New Heights!” 🎈☁️

We created this larger-than-life balloon stand alone garland filled with gorgeous Burns blue and green and topped it off with hot air balloons floating throughout. The perfect little extra touch to make that first-day-of-school entrance feel exciting! ✨

I absolutely LOVE seeing people within a school community go out of their way to create these little moments for the students and staff. A new school year should feel exciting, hopeful, and full of possibilities — and what better way to start than soaring into it! 🚀🎈

One of my favorite traditions is back for the third year in a row! It is always such an honor to help Burns Science and Technology Charter School kick off the new school year with a little balloon magic. 💙💚

This year's theme, "Soaring to New Heights," was the perfect inspiration! We created a giant cloud entrance arch complete with floating hot air balloons to welcome students and families as they walked in, along with my favorite piece—a life-size interactive hot air balloon basket that everyone could climb into for photos! 📸✨

I absolutely love creating pieces that aren't just decorations, but experiences. Watching kids (and parents!) light up as they hopped into the basket for pictures made all the hours of planning and building completely worth it.

I absolutely love how these colors play together—bright, cheerful, and perfect for celebrating a little one's first trip around the sun. 💛🧡🤍

Can I be honest for a minute? 🤔🫣

The balloon industry has changed... a lot.

When I started four years ago, balloon decor wasn't something everyone was doing.

Today, it feels like every day another balloon business pops up, and many are competing on one thing alone: price.

I understand budgets.

I truly do.

But somewhere along the way, custom balloon artistry started being treated like a commodity instead of a skilled service.

I don't sell balloons.

I design. I engineer. I create. I troubleshoot. I invest in continuing education, quality materials, equipment, insurance, inventory, and countless hours behind the scenes that no one ever sees.

When someone tells me, "I found someone cheaper," I genuinely wish them the best.

But I will no longer apologize for charging what my experience is worth.

For years, I've bent over backward to make budgets work. I've discounted. I've redesigned. I've cut my own profit just to help people celebrate.

The truth?

Every time I do that, I'm telling myself that my time, my talent, and my years of hard work aren't worth what I know they are.

And they are.

Here's something else I want people to know...

I was once the new balloon artist too.

Looking back at my first creations, I can honestly laugh because they were nowhere near the quality I produce today.

But I also knew that. I priced my work accordingly, I was honest about my experience, and I never represented my work as something it wasn't.

There is absolutely room in this industry for beginners.

Every experienced artist started somewhere.

But if you're choosing a vendor based solely on price, make sure you're comparing portfolios, consistency, reviews, and experience—not just the number at the bottom of the quote.

A lower price may be exactly what fits your needs, and that's okay. Just make sure your expectations match the level of experience you're hiring.

If your vision is a professionally designed installation that photographs beautifully, lasts through your event, and is executed consistently, those are skills that take years to develop!

To those of you who continue to choose Junebug Balloon Bar—not because I'm the cheapest, but because you trust my work—thank you.

Today's balloon setup, Junebug Balloon Bar had the honor of sponsoring the City of Oak Hill Florida Fourth of July celebration and adding a little balloon magic to the festivities! 🎈

With the old-fashioned BBQ cookout theme, I wanted the balloons to have that nostalgic, small-town American Pie kind of feeling—red, white and blue, oversized American flag bows, and one very special vintage truck! 🛻🇺🇸

And I officially got to check something off my balloon bucket list: decorating a vintage vehicle! 😍 I have wanted to do this for so long, and I couldn’t have imagined a more perfect event for it.

A HUGE shoutout and thank you to Oak Hill Hotrod Garage for allowing us to use their absolutely amazing vintage truck! 🛻❤️ It was truly the perfect centerpiece for this setup and brought the entire vision together. I mean… balloons + a gorgeous vintage truck?! I was in heaven! 😍🎈

The celebration is happening today from 10 AM–3 PM, so if you’re local, stop by, enjoy the BBQ cookout, and make sure you grab a picture with the truck! 📸 It makes the cutest little patriotic photo spot, especially for the kiddos. ❤️🤍💙

🇺🇸✨ Kicking off Fourth of July weekend with a Sweet 16! ✨🇺🇸

This setup was all about bold color, metallic texture, and creating something completely custom for a forth of July birthday girl. ❤️🤍💙

The star of this one might just be that hand-created crushed metallic backdrop I made. 🪩✨ Every bit of that texture was created by hand to turn a plain backdrop into something completely unique—and paired with the color-blocked balloon garland, oversized silver stars, and glowing Happy Birthday sign, it made the perfect statement for a Sweet 16! ⭐️

Happy Sweet 16 to the birthday girl! 🎂💙 And this is only the beginning of the red, white, and blue around here… more Fourth of July balloon magic is coming this weekend! 👀🇺🇸🎈
