A year ago, we took a leap and joined DRIVE through our O’Reilly Auto Parts representative. At the time, we knew it was management training and coaching company designed to help independent automotive shop owners become more profitable and efficient, but I had no idea just how much it would change the way I looked at our business.

I (libby) dove in pretty quickly because I wanted to understand our business better, our finances, our numbers, where we needed to improve, and what it would take to build a successful shop for the long term.

But it’s about so much more than numbers and profitability. DRIVE has taught me how important it is to build a strong shop culture and create a workplace where our employees can grow, succeed, and feel like they are part of something bigger.

Most people don't see much of me doing all of this because I’m usually working behind the scenes, taking what I’ve learned and trying to put it into action at Blue Line. There’s a lot that goes on behind the scenes to build the business we want to become.

This year, we decided to take another big step and join shop owners from across the country in Las Vegas for the DRIVE Expo—and I am SO glad we did!

We learned more than I could have imagined, met so many incredible shop owners, and made new friends and connections that we know will last for years. There is something pretty special about being surrounded by people who understand the challenges, the sacrifices, and the passion that go into owning an independent auto repair shop.

And then, to top it all off, we earned our Effective Shop Manager Award!🏆

I am incredibly proud of how far we’ve come in just one year, and I’m even more excited about where we’re going. Now we’re jumping into the Master of shop managment Program, and I can’t wait to see what the next chapter brings.

I can’t wait to see where we take Blue Line Automotive, not just for Tom and me, but for our family, our employees, and the community that has supported us every step of the way.

We’re just getting started. 💙
