The Explorers is an organization whose goal is to familiarize teenage boys and girls ( ages 14-20) to the Fire Services.
The East Rochester Fire Department believes in helping youth gain an understanding of the Fire Service and the job that firefighters do around the community. In 1989, the fire department began the first Fire Based Explorer Post in East Rochester. The Explorers organization whose goal is to familiarize teenage boys and girls with the Fire Services. The Explorers are a stepping stone for those who wish to become firefighters. They have a wide variety of training and programs that will prepare them for this type of public service. Regardless of the explorer's career choice, the experience gained will better prepare them for the future. The program will teach leadership skills, team work, and good civic values. In addition, the post will create new friendships in a very diverse field.

Mendon Parade!
05/20/2017
With 3 high school seniors leaving the post at the end of August, we are definitely looking for new members... as we are always! If you are in 8th grade or above and at least 14 years old, you can join now! You get to experience what firefighters do by going to monthly drills, by practicing search and rescue, learning about tools on trucks, learning about the firetrucks, ect...we have monthly meetings, and we also help around the community. We also participate in other department parades for their carnivals and you also get to help out with East Rochester's carnival, which is always such a fun time. If you would like more information, you can message Sophie Foster. Join a club where you make great connections with people and your community and where you can learn what it's like to be a firefighter.
