A brief, but luscious EP this collection was made in response to prompts given by Phil Elverum during a workshop that just really transformed and opened up my creative life & mind. It’s such a gift that these songs actually arrived out the experience—I wasn’t even expecting it! Each track was written off the cuff and barely changed in lyric/structure as i built them up into “finished tracks.” Part of the workshop was about embracing immediacy & rawness & I tried to be true to those ideals in process and as these became “real things.”Made these in a whirlwind without looking back! ⁣

There’s odes to depression and transcendence, oceanic folk-rock meditation, folk songs of young-memory sexual exploration and a synth-soaked paean to rain. I quote Rainer Maria Rilke, Robert Duncan and Phil on here. Whoa. Field Recordings. Drone. A sung choral poem that appears out of nowhere. How many different sounding ideas did I think I could fit into 17 minutes? A lot, apparently. Best sounding thing I ever recorded by far. ⁣

Grateful to the careful and caring ears of for her exquisite mastering and for the open heart of for dropping it in analog form. You can get one from them this minute if you so desire! ⁣
