Firebird Raceway offers events from late-March through mid-October, including the Nightfire Nationals every August.
Firebird Raceway is a family run facility sanctioned by the National Hot Rod Association. For better than five decades, Idaho's largest motorsport's facility has offered events starting in late-March and continuing through the end of October. Racers compete at Firebird from all over the nation at a wide-variety of races. The track's most popular events include the Ignitor, the Nightfire and Halloween Classic in October.

As the NHRA celebrates its 75th Anniversary in 2026, we're reminded of the incredible racers and unforgettable moments that have helped shape Firebird Raceway over the years.
From legends like Don Prudhomme, Don Garlits, John Force and the Hemi Under Glass to countless others who have thundered down the quarter-mile, Firebird has been honored to welcome many of drag racing's greatest competitors since opening in 1968.
This page from our 2026 Firebird Motorsports Annual Yearbook is just a small glimpse into the history that has unfolded here over the decades—a history built by racers, crews, sponsors, officials and generations of loyal fans.
We can't wait to celebrate that tradition once again when the 55th Annual Nightfire Nationals presented by Bi-Mart return August 7-9. Here's to another chapter in Firebird history.

All of us are looking forward to having NHRA and Fox Sports broadcaster Brian Lohnes return to the 55th running of the Nightfire presented by Bi-Mart, August 7-9.
Brian just finished calling the t.v. action from both NHRA national events at Sonoma Raceway (two weeks ago) and Pacific Raceways (last weekend).
Get ready for three days of nitro-fueled drag racing action as the top NHRA Hot Rod Heritage Series teams return to Firebird for one of the biggest events of the season.

The twelfth race in the Boise Muffler Gold Cup Series presented by NAPA Auto Parts saw Sean Shaffer collect top honors in Super Pro.
Shaffer nailed a .019 light, running 4.67 on a 4.65 dial-147.99 to overtake Lisa Thomas who finished at (.040 r.t.) 6.23 (6.22 dial) 108.44.
With the win in the Kidd Performance-backed Super Pro class, Sean is leading the 2026 point's chase (and a top the standings for the Best on Best battle of the belts coming up Labor Day weekend at the Summit E.T. Team Finals).

The countdown is on!
In just over a week, Firebird's biggest weekend of the season returns as the 55th Annual Nightfire Nationals presented by Bi-Mart takes center stage August 7-9.
Celebrating the 75th Anniversary of the NHRA, Nightfire features three days and nights of championship drag racing with AA/Nitro Funny Cars, Fuel Dragsters, Fuel Altereds, Pro Mods, Jet Cars and more. It's Idaho's largest drag racing event of the season and one of the Northwest's longest-running motorsports traditions.
If you haven't made your plans yet, now's the time. Gather your family and friends and experience the sights, sounds and excitement that have made Nightfire a Firebird tradition for five and a half decades!

Defending Pro track champion Sean Clark won the Big O Tires Pro class at the Pre-Nightfire Warm Up.
Clark hit a .039 light and took the stripe at a 9.98 (9.91 dial) 127.90. In the far lane, Ken Dill was .108 at the tree, finishing as runner-up with a 10.48 (10.47 dial) 127.50.

Cleaned, scraped, prepped and race ready for Saturday's Pre-Nightfire Warm Up with twelve different classes on deck.
Racer gates open at 9 am on Sat., time trials starting at 11 am, and first round at 4:40 pm. Racing scheduled to continue till 10:30 pm.

Best of luck to Jaxson Gonzales as he represents Firebird Raceway this weekend in the 8-Car Jr. Dragster Invitational during the NHRA Northwest Nationals at Pacific Raceways.
As Firebird's top-ranked Junior racer (back in May), Jaxson earned one of just eight (out of 19 Division 6 member tracks) coveted invitations awarded through the Northwest Division for this special event.
It's a tremendous opportunity to compete against some of the Northwest's top Junior racers on one of drag racing's biggest stages. We'll all be cheering Jaxson on as he proudly represents Firebird in Seattle.

The Nightfire Nationals presented by Bi-Mart return to Firebird August 6-9, bringing together many of the best racers battling it out at Firebird's richest race of the season.
